Obviously Hitchcock was the hands-down master of jaw-dropper critical scenes, so I'm putting all of his films aside.

Best movie scenes?
I'm kind of a sucker for the post-Hal Jupiter scenes in 2001.
I die every time I see Woody Allen sneeze into the cocaine in Annie Hall.
The last Benjamin-Mr. Robinson Scene is pretty great in The Graduate.
All-time favorite movie scene? Hard to say. Could it be "Attica! Attica!" from Dog Day Afternoon? It could well be. Pachino has some amazing lines in his films.

Ok, I'm going to cop shit for this, but Hooper X's Q&A at the start of Chasing Amy is a classic.

Other great movie scenes:
The lesbian scene in Those Young Girls. Ginger Lynn and Traci Lords in some of the unintentionally funny sex scenes ever.

The scene where Ace discovers that Tobio is really a guy in Wild Zero.

The fish shop shoot up scene in Sara

The house party scene in Human Traffic

The last scene in Sleepaway Camp! Holymotherfuckingshit is that scene scary! I get freaked out even thinking about it!

The weed bag scene in Harold & Kumar (where Kumar gets married to the bag of weed) is hilarious! Si I'm sure you can appreciate that one.

I appreciate it, but I also find myself thinking about their huge flaw in logic. If I ever had a serendipitous find like that, fuck White Castle, lemme get this fuckin' sack of weed the fuck HOME!

I've never had White Castle...

Re: Great Movie Scenes Reply #17 on: March 21, 2009, 07:34:26 PM
They're great drunk food. I've never had it, and I'm sure the real product is even better, but the microwavable frozen version is great.

Like a souvlaki?

Nothing beats a souvlaki as drunk food, but I have no idea how you do a microwavable souvlaki.

The scene in Serenity where the Reaver ships come out of the ion cloud.  Yes, I'm a nerd, blow me.

The convenience store scene from Waking Life.

The dance number from Clerks 2.
No one mourns the wicked.

Tricky, I don't think you could get me to love you more. One of the best series of all time. (Up there with Class of Nuke 'Em High and Puppet Master) I have the boxed set! The 4th movie actually just came out at the end of last year, but I haven't seen it yet. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001CT876C/officialsleepawa

- The scene in Children of Men when they are carrying the baby out of the building and everybody stops fighting.
- The scene in Million Dollar Baby when Eastwood grants Hillary Swank's wish
- Giant critter-ball in Critters
- Scene from 28 Days Later when the streets of London are empty
- The "tortoise" interrogation scene in Blade Runner.
- The alternate ending in the Butterfly Effect.  (DVD)

haha. Cool. My ex had the boxset as well, never got to watch it though except for the first one. I'm a big horror movie fan.

Oh yes and do we need to mention The Shining? That movie is full of great scenes (I know this and I haven't even watched it all the way through).
