"Based on a recipe from about 1700." About 1700. Like, you know, roughly 1700. Give or take. A hundred or two years. Or more, maybe. Actually, to be honest, we just mixed up some shit that we think might taste like you might think mead should taste, maybe? Anyway. Drink this shit.

Why did they go out of style overnight? I never got a straight answer on that one as a kid. The closest I ever came to an answer was what one of my friends told me. apparently Donny or Johnny or one of the New Kids anyway had been caught smoking marijuana before a concert. Yeah. Fucking Marijuana!

As a DARE-brainwashed kid I remember thinking that that was a pretty reasonable explanation. After all who would like a bunch of drug abusers?
But now that I get a bit older and more cynical I realize there has to be more to it than that. Smoking weed is, in fact, an insane reason for a band to go out of style. So what's the story?

Do I care about this?

The only thing I remember from DARE is thinking that all female cops were lesbians, because the one that ran my class was a full-on bull dyke.

Loaded-Gun.com - I don't know what the hell they are talking about or why they are even there. They don't make serious points and they don't joke, but they still manage to make a lot of posts somehow.

Well I'm no closer to an answer on my question but somehow I'm OK with closing the thread as well.

I remember one of my grade school friends tearing down a poster of one of the New Kids from his wall. The poster had always hung above his bed so that he could just look up and see those soft soulful eyes smiling down on him. I went over to his house one day and we were hanging out when suddenly he got up, took down the poster, and shredded it. I was pretty stunned. This was right as they lost popularity. I had heavy flashbacks of this scene when I was in high school and I read 1984. The fall of the New Kids was exactly like the whole "Goldstein's men had been at work" scene. Maybe this was just my friend awakening to the brutish side of his heterosexuality.

I let mine touch me... she was hot, for a grandma.
Ah, the legendary GILF.

Well adjusted, and relatively normal.
