I think it's interesting that the plastic has actually been soaking up some of the more toxic chemicals in the water and binding them up.

Here's one that will surprise you... I read that book after reading the article by Lindsey Hoshaw (who is a hottie BTW) and hearing the author on NPR. As a sailor I have a morbid fascination with what happens to shipping containers that are washed overboard.
