He's pretty cool. An old friend of my husband's from high school.

His roommate stiffed him on rent and he had to move out for a month before getting a new place in the same complex near our house. He is also looking for another job. What was first my offer to store his shit in the garage, became him staying in our basement until he gets the new apartment.

He had a falling out with his parents about 7 years ago when he was on meth and even though he hasn't done it in 6 years, he isn't welcome to stay with them. (they are originally from Sierra Leone. I don't know if it may be a cultural thing or if he just really really pissed off his folks).

Anyway, he has been helping out by doing the dishes and giving us an awesome discount on weed he gets. He spends most of his non-working time on the computer in the basement.

I think my 2 year olds consider him one of the cats since he kinda disappears and reappears from the basement. They call out his name like they do the cats
I even told this dude he now reminds me of Cat from Red Dwarf. Then I showed him Red Dwarf. He laughed.

But my big question is: if a 2 year old (or 2 year olds) tells you that a "man cat" lives in their basement, how would you react?

Depends, has he tried to hump anyone's arm?

^ this would be how I'd discern wether or not he is, in fact, a man-cat. That or, if my kids told me that he put a dead snake or rabbit on one of their pillows.

If he starts peeing on random objects around the house, you might reconsider the situation. As is, sounds like a nice way to get hooked up with no real downside.

Assuming he does leave, eventually.

This is starting to resemble a Beavis and Butt-Head sketch.

Actually, a lot of Beavis & Butt-head quoting has been happening around the house as of late. Cuz, ya know, the new episodes.. *uh huhhuhhuhhuh. I typed "head"*

But he has been cleaning the kitchen and the living room. That helps. Oh and the 'dro he gave us on Wednesday night........damn.
He hasn't peed on anything so I think this might work out for the few more weeks he's here.
