i have to figure out what to cook for Christmas tomorrow...

Have you come up with any ideas yet?

My family has this tradition... for the last 16 years they've gone to a Chinese place for xmas dinner.

I've been to three of those.

This year it's some place that has sushi, so I am going.

They're not plants either.

fungus =/= meat. doesnt matter if its a plant or not.

Yeah, understood. I just find it a little odd that mushrooms tend to get thrown in with vegetables even though they're not.

Roast chicken, potatoes, ham, steamed veges and shiitake fried in garlic butter. Woo!

Baked Ham, Candied Yams, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy and some sort of vegies as yet undecided, maybe steamed or roasted carrots.

Do you do the cooking too Nick?

I has Chinese for dinner tonight and it was really good.
They had some kind of roasted vegetables with jalapenos that was a pleasant surprise.

Again, throw down the procedure and we'll give it a try.

I like fried egg plant but I also like Okra. Fried or otherwise.

I've started only eating cheeses I really like - so I typically turn down anything other than the blue cheese family.

I'm eating here Friday: http://www.pazorestaurant.com/uploads/file/PZ_menu%2012.14.pdf

It's true, Dave's Eggplant is to die for. I had a spoonful cold and three days old and 2 days old and it was so good I had a scoop on a kaiser roll the next day and I don't even eat bread normally. I'm going to buy some eggplant and okra this weekend at the farmers market and experiment.

Okra is vile.

I had a spoonful cold and three days old and 2 days old

This sounds like a nursery rhyme. Is that an old-timey way of saying "five days old"?

It was 2 days old ...
I make a big batch of it once a year ...
... I LOVE cold eggplant sandwiches

Please note: Aside of my own recipe, I'm NOT a real fan of eggplant!

Chicken livers are to die for.  But not more than twice a year.

lilly-liver, one that wouldst be a bawd, in way of good service, and art nothing but the composition of a knave, beggar, coward, pandar, and the son and heir of a mongrel bitch.

Fair enough .

I hated courgettes (zucchini) when I was a kid, and it's one of my favourite foods now.

Same!

I used to hate most vegetables actually, and now its the opposite.

Next Christmas, I'm going to institute a new tradition, where I buy a supermarket cooked chikkin, and devour it over the kitchen sink with my bare hands.

It'll be EPIC!
