I have a confession to make. I think I killed A-S.

It's true I crashed the board a number of times. But I also found out you could create spoof users simply by creating an account with a period at the beginning of the user name. This allowed me to access other peoples emails.

Sorry guys.

BitchChick I'm sorry I used this to fuck with you.

Now that you mention it, I'm pretty sure you weren't the only person doing this. I can't remember if someone showed me the trick or if I figured it out, but I can remember doing just that near the end of A-S.

It's one thing for an individual outsider to wreak havoc for fun.
But gfc you guys were mods. Its all cool though.
Except Emp should have never deleted my sex experiment thread.
It was the fastest growing thread (possibly in A-S history) and was just starting to get real!

Like it / don't like it whatever, it was generating hits.

Just had to mention that.

I'm to old for that shit now.

The mad scramble to create EZBoards ensued.

I been thinking about this a bit... I've gotten to a point where I can look back and honestly say that 1998 was about the best year of my life. A-S was a big part of the reason why.

I have to say the interaction between people back then was quite an experience.

Hard to say why people no longer want to contribute in this format but I think Face Book has sucked them all in.

Sad but true.  With Face Book you get to personalize everything about your on-line experience, but every personal thing about you you share and all your contacts are being logged by the .gov

I don't think .gov is as competent as you give them credit for Tru. They are still converting documents from microfiche. And any place that still accepts paper-filing (e.g.- the IRS) shouldn't be feared, they should be pitied. So much wasted time and money is spent by the government to process paperwork. I don't think they have enough resources to hatch a global conspiracy.

But those are just the worker ants. They have no better clue what's going on than the homeless.

Think higher on the pyramid which is in fact a national symbol for the few to orchestrate the many while laughing in their faces.

Maybe the total will take decades to classify and pigeonhole but anything that stands out is recognized immediately. And will be dealt with.

Oh that's just for homeland security right? Wrong. It's for the international 1% security.

Btw the full cost of protecting the 1% falls squarely on the 99% of taxpayers.

Re: Dear Anti-Socialites: Reply #111 on: July 22, 2014, 07:58:35 AM
I get it, Tru; the higher echelon shadow government that's run by plutocrats that want to cripple the global economy and replace it with an oligarchy run by the New World Order. Or the plot for the X-files. I understand what's going on as any average conspiracy theorist. But I don't think I'm as paranoid. Sure, there are some people in the government that I want to take a hike. They involve themselves with corporate interests, war-mongering, and money-politics. How any democracy thrives under the principle of corporate greed is just baffling. But conspiracy theory is just another distraction, a fog of misinformation to wade through. It's white noise.

I won't subscribe to a puppet master state theory that has government organizations tied to each finger. The only reason there are few people/corporations running the government is because society allows it to happen. We've become lazy and desensitized to government policy, we work 40 hrs a week and want nothing more than to empty our minds into lazy and easily digestible media outlets. It is no wonder intelligent people get sucked in to conspiracy theories; they are bored with the same media and seek more adventure.

Really well put, 'tunian. I believed in conspiracies when I was an adolescent. But it all fell away when I joined the working world and had to accomplish what I thought were simple tasks in any group of humans larger than 3 persons. I have worked with talented folks, brilliant folks, and maybe one certifiable genius to follow instructions, create objects, fullfil requirements, and design/prototype totally new things.

I have NEVER come across a person or organization so competent that it made me believe in the possibility of intentional mass manipulation.

Re: Dear Anti-Socialites: Reply #118 on: July 27, 2014, 10:05:18 PM
I have an issue

I've noticed a trend among younger posters. They think that because the leadership of the companies they work for is so screwed up and disorganized that no conspiracies can exist in government or globally.

I just don't know what to tell you, you don't even believe in the major proven conspiracies like the gulf of Tonkin incident. And don't even understand why it was in fact a conspiracy.

But your bosses are in the same mud with the rest of us!
Petty personal issues often guide their decisions. (which can be local conspiracies in themselves.)

What can I say to young people (or nay people for that matter) who simply refuse to believe because it doesn't seem to have any immediate impact on their lives and because media simply keeps repeating the official line on any subject.

I mean man on the street Mark Dice proves young people today (across the board) are completely fucked and unable to answer most simple questions. And many of the people he interviews on the street are are fairly well paid people in positions of responsibility. Like you guys. Yuppies I guess some might call them, or whatever is en vogue at the moment.

How can they/you ever have a valid concept of real (old world style) conspiracies? It simply isn't possible.

Nice series of Mark Dice interviews with really stupid Americans at random on the street.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRkFDcX_72c&list=PLa8S4GilqogQRwblg-wi17_-z5jhPuxVV

I give you guys from other countries far more credit than most Americans for knowing what is going on, but still their influence is everywhere. Global! So your media usually feeds you the same shit ours does.

Bump fists at the pub over discounting all conspiracy theories and have a roaring time but the rooster will always come home to roost.

The Brezinskis and Kissingers of the world go on record explaining exactly what they're doing.  You can pick up Foreign Policy magazine, you can listen to interviews, etc.  Funding right-wing revolutionaries to destabilize other countries, false flag attacks, etc. have long been part of the standard operating procedure.  The propaganda used to support these things in the US is pretty transparent, too: from pro-military films that require close cooperation with the pentagon to even be filmed to newly retired generals appearing on the news as experts to support wars...  Hell, even the NSA stuff that has people up in arms now has been floated in TV shows and movies for at least 15 years.

Collusion between private industry and the government agencies that regulate it is no secret.  Monsanto affiliated beuracrats sitting on the committee to approve Monsanto products?  Regulators and policy makers in treasury who jump back and forth between finance and government?  Guaranteed occupancy prison contracts?  Judges getting on the FISA court and becoming heavy investors in Verizon?  Congressional insider trading?  None of it is secret.

I agree with Neptunian.  Conspiracy theory is just white noise.
