Interesting, I always considered it the other way round, that cats absorb human bodily warmth because they generate insufficient warmth of their own when at rest. Hence the cat trait of sitting on a window sill on a warm sunny day.

The new bed is excellent.  I slept incredibly well.  Out gassing foam is a little stinky and my wife and 10 lb dog still somehow fight over the same 2" of bed real estate, which I thought would have been impossible in a king size bed.

Dog always wins, because she waits until we're asleep and takes the spot she wanted anyway.

12-21-12 ... Life is truly over ...

My cat Smokey took off on Friday. I went looking for him on Monday. On Wednesday, there was a huge blizzard coming in, so I headed into the woods behind my house.

And then got a bit lost.

Ended up by the apartment buildings on the other side of the woods and discovered a chainlink fence. My feet were too frozen to manage to climb it, so I walked along the fence into the wind towards the radio towers. Then it occured to me that I could use the bench someone left back aways to climb the fence. I hobble back to bench and carry it to the fence only to discover that the fence ends. I wasted 30 mins walking towards the radio towers.

Left the woods and hobbled back home. I had no feeling in my legs. My phone died out shortly after I left aand I had no idea how long I was gone. Got home and found out I was gone for 2 1/2 hours. My skin was all red and white. Zach had to pull off my wet clothes while Zee looked embarrassed holding dry clothes. Zach gave me chicken and Zee gave me water. I then passed out.

I woke up at 2am on the sofa with all the lights out. The tv had "santa Claus Conquors the Martians" on so I smoked a bowl and laughed at it. School was canceled for morning. My whole body hurt. I looked outside and there was about a foot of snow. And no Smokey.

Around 6am I take more worthless painkillers and go upstairs to bed. Smoked a bowl then fell asleep.

Zee, J, and F woke me around 11am to tell me that Smokey was outside on the back deck. He came inside a few hours later.

I am always telling him he is lucky I love him so much. My back is shot. My skin is all dried out.

The woods between my yard and the radio towers are crazy. I found a fucking sofa back there. And a bbq grill.

Sounds like some of my adventures.  Mine are generally fueled by moonshine instead of painkillers but the same idea.

The best I get from a 10mg vicodin is feeling less annoyed by the pain.  I'm scared to take more than 15mg. Too many people I have known from high school have gotten messed up with painkillers and overdosed or turned into massive assholes or both.

But now the doctors and hospitals think anyone my age complaining about pain is looking to get high.
Ugh. It sucks.

But I am doing much better now because my friend came by with an early christmas gift of super skunky weed.

when my tiny dog gets out... He always runs up the parking lot and to the left. There is a sign for this complex there, and he makes sure to pee on every single stick of that sign....
The only way to catch him is to walk up to him with his leash, shaking it around, and saying, "Bean! Wanna go for a walk??!!!" with a very excited voice. The dude starts jumping up in the air, wagging his whole body, cuz, its walk-time! Even though we are already outside...... That leash holds magnificent powers.

Nah. I've never had the balls to force animals to get high. I think it's sick.

I had a cat once that would come straight off if she smelled it and begged for a hit.  My cats today all run away when I toke up. All except the new little boy, he likes it. I've never forced them. They are just like people, some do, some don't.
