It was highly lucid, I realized I was dreaming almost from the very beginning and had fun with it. It was one of the longest lucid dreams I've ever had.

But when analyzing it myself I've come to think it may be a metaphor for the rat race.

The situation that we start off on the ground floor and getting ahead, struggling to get "above" others takes effort. The buoyancy aspect may represent how we reach plateaus where we are temporarily comfortable with little effort but if we want to continue the ascent we have to gather the resources we have accumulated and try even harder to reach the next higher one. If at any time we stop "working" we sink back down to the bottom.

But that may be over analyzing it, it really was just a fun dream.

What was wrong with it?
I ride my bike almost every day.
A bolt striped out on my rear basket the other day and it almost fell off on the ride home (already fixed) , then my kickstand fell apart yesterday morning, but I'll fix it too.
I love my old bike, I've crashed on her more times than I can count and she shows little sign of it. She's a tough lady. Bright yellow Univega. She looks like this,


Mine has a really cool retro looking headlight though, made out of a chrome shower head with an old glass clearance light lens on the front and the reflector, bulb and battery from a 1000000 candle power hand held spot light. They go together perfectly.

Mine's an $80 12-speed from WalMart ...

All the best bikes I've ever owned came from the thrift store.
I paid $9.89 for a Specialized Hard Rock that looked brand new once cleaned up and I paid $35 for the Trek that was stolen last year. All Of them have been in excellent riding condition once cleaned and lubed.

I just got back from a ride in fact.
And I found a cool perfectly functional torch style lighter laying in the gutter.
