Seriously, this is not the kind of place where a delete button is appropriate. It needs to be disabled, and if there is no easy way to do this in the admin I'll be happy to make the code change for you guys.

Me too, but that doesn't make it right. Allowing users to edit their own posts is enough. At least that way they can't just zap a bunch of their own posts and make it look like eitje has lost his fucking marbles.

Yeah, you can see that stuff. Taking away the ability to outright delete a post but still letting people edit posts means that if someone changes their mind and wants to get rid of a post of theirs, anyone reading will at least know that there was once a post there.
