the sad thing is i believe most, if not all, of it was true.

bagman, i actually clerk for a judge now.  looking to work in a law firm when this is over.  i saw that shit about the assault weapons ban.  anyone else notice that suddenly there is a dirth of articles about mexican drug cartels and firearms?  instead of using the drug crime to have a serious discussion about the misdirection of america's "war" on drugs, instead liberals (like the new york times) are using it an excuse for gun control. 

Bah, next you'll be telling us Israel has a right to oppress Palestinians just because they have an enthusiasm for model rocketry, or that the Democrat Party is at the root of the mortgage collapse just because they nobly forced banks to give out loans to deadbea... the less fortunate for decades, or that the excessive spending that took place during the Bush administration isn't justification for the Democrat Party to spend a thousand times as much, or that a nuclear Iran is somehow "a dangerous menace", while building nuclear power plants, which everyone knows are just ticking time bombs, in our own country is "sound energy policy"...

The Mexican border is in a world of shit right now, and not just on the Mexican side. Ending prohibition would quickly dry up the cartel's profits, but politically it's probably never going to happen. The United States Government isn't too good at saying, "Sorry, we were wrong". Unfortunately Mexico's governement is so corrupt that high ranking officials are probably getting paid off by by the cartels and they're unlikely to co-operate with the US by letting US military to go in and knock off or arrest the cartel leaders. 

It's business as ususl I guess.
