I have taken so many beginners classes that I should've been a pro by now.  I always get into, "I'm gonna get toned and flexible!" mode, and then I take a few classes and quit.  I am going to go to 24 hour fitness to take spinning classes next.  Spinning is way more fun than yoga.  It's hard for me to work out though, because I weigh 120 and look pretty fit.  At least I garden and go hiking with my mom.

No. It's fucking boring to me. I need to sign up for martial arts already, goddamnit.

Yeah I hike a lot and did martial arts a lifetime ago. But I'm back in a 34 waist, headed for 32.

I've been to a few classes.  I like the traditional classes, where they haven't scrapped the meditative element to try to turn it into straight exercise.

I feel like a bit of a pervert going to the group classes around me, though, because I spend the whole time checking out the girls.

As long as you don't play with yourself until you're back in your car, you're okay.
Like yours.  Only different.

That's what got me started.

Never been interested in being in a room full of people squeezes farts out as they "relax" their muscles and bend in awkward positions.

Re: Yoga Reply #8 on: May 25, 2009, 12:39:41 AM
I did a pilates class once. Didn't get through the whole thing. I definitely underestimated how hard it would be with a cracked rib.

But lately I've been thinking I need to start doing something to improve my flexibility. Lifting is fun as hell but I'm feeling a little creaky.

I do pilates at home.  I tried yoga in the past but I didn't enjoy it.

If I had the time, I'd do all this amazing stuff like martial arts, yoga and pilates.

Hahaha  this reminds me of my boss. She talks about how she doesn't have time for maintaining a Facebook account, yet she has lots of time to spend on the phone with the man she's having an affair with, and lots of time to go out and get various plastic surgery procedures done during work hours.

A kickboxing school just opened up here. I'm wondering what their weekly schedule is like, cuz that could be fun.

Soo, she has time for "reality" but not the internet, weird.....

I wouldn't really call plastic surgery reality.

Maybe a poor attempt to confuse reality, but silicone and botox ain't foolin' anyone.

Re: Yoga Reply #18 on: May 25, 2009, 04:20:52 PM
Well, she makes it sound like people who spend their time on stuff on things like Facebook are so beneath her, however I think that's probably a better thing to spend time on than getting plastic surgury & stroking your partner-in-affair's ego during work hours.

Basically, she's morally corrupt. Also, she's Catholic.

I put the word in "" for a reason. I never know what to use for sarcastic.

Be sure to stock up on toilet paper.

Taking an MMA class would be great for getting in shape. It cut the flab off of me in a hurry. Went from 240 to 185.

I've dropped 25 in MMA so far, and that's with missing the last 6 weeks due to gall bladder surgery.  2 weeks of weights, sit-ups, and jogging at home and I'll be headed back.

I go to yoga classes occassionally for completely different reasons than I take MMA.  Getting into shape isn't really one of them, though it is good for flexibility.

We work a lot of rubber guard, so it helps with flexibility.

I wouldn't mind doing Yoga - although there's stuff all time free after work/gym/baseball/cricket/japanese/wife/portfolio have had their share
Loaded-Gun.com - I don't know what the hell they are talking about or why they are even there. They don't make serious points and they don't joke, but they still manage to make a lot of posts somehow.
