Whoa ...

OMG I had the ultimate treehouse when I was a kid.  You don't even know.  My family lived in this duplex mansion with this other family that were good friends of ours.  So these kids, their dad was a carpenter and made them the SWEETEST treehouse ever, which was pretty much mine too cuz I lived in the same house.  We had an aluminum ladder nailed to a tree and went up from the bottom to this perfectly made house with two windows and two doors.  Both doors led to this deck, and at the end of the deck was another ladder that went further up another tree into this crows nest.  It was so sweet.

i tried to make a tree house in my back yard with some twigs that fell from the tree that grows in the alley.

fail.

We had a platform built into a big ol' *ficus in our yard, and a rope tied up above the platform that ran down to the side of our house, where we put an old mattress. We rigged an old bmx handlebar up to a pulley borrowed from my uncle's boat and had a zipline. It was probably only 20-30', but as a kid it was about the best thing in the world.







*also served as 2nd base and a goalpost.
