This will be a going away party for Cain/Chitownoi/Joe and in honor of his going to live with the Alamanni for a while. That means he's going to that lovely place that is heavily infested with Krauts.

Sailing, kayaking,boating, swimming, wanton vandalism of St Clements Island, grilling of meats and veggies, camping, and lots unnecessary consumption of alcohol. Midnight skinnydipping for those who aren't total pussies. The honorable Steeleye Dragylyude, slayer of dragons,  Clan Champion of the Concusar, Shaman to the bogtroopers and Archdruid of the United Celtic Clans may or may not be in attendance.

We're developing a turnkey system of 1000 watts of solar and wind, amost completely made of recycled materials. Pretty much everything but the PV cells, the gen windings and the storage bank will be free junk. Having fun with it. And I'm building a vertical axis omni-directional blade set.

I can make a vertical more efficient by hand turning the windings in a three strand configuration and connecting them in a 3-phase star pattern. I might patent it.

That also cuts down on the overspeed cutout of a vertical axis turbine which will turn much faster than a horizontal.

After that it's all in charge controller, storage and load.

Yes. Then connecting the three strands in an alternating pattern. That way you get three distinct sources of current more widely distributed in the magnetic field. Less chance of high speed cutout, MORE current.

3 wires with current, yes...3 phase powe,r no. The way you describe alternating the wires will give you the same current on all wires at the same time.

and you wont get more current than the stock wired unit....because if just adding more wire gave you more current.....thats how stock gens would be made.  ( good stock units ).
