i have no idea what all the dinosaur stuff is about, other than you think they're older/younger than claimed in the Bible?

most creationists claim dinosaurs aren't real...?

I'm selling dinosaurs on the interwebz.
Does that mean I can get a papal seal of approval?

Anyway, 13chem, but this is the problem.Religion is fine, but when people switch their heads off and listen to somone saying "Scientists are always evil-burn them all, the Earth is physical centre of the Universe", things can fuck up pretty quickly.

Fyr,yes I think the overlap of science and religion is fascinating( despite the tragic past eg the Middle Ages). When u think how space and time and different universes could overlap, the concepts of heaven, hell and demons become a much more comprehendable phenomenon to some people.

God might exist, because no one has been able to understand how something as complex as mitochondria has been able to be created.  There is no way to explain how something so complex can exist and what evolved to make it exist.  So maybe people that believe aren't crazy, just ignorant.

That's kind of a weak argument. Show a scientist from 1809 an HDTV and ask him to explain how it works. Show a scientist from 1709 and he'll probably believe it's magic.

That's kind of a weak argument. Show a scientist from 1809 an HDTV and ask him to explain how it works. Show a scientist from 1709 and he'll probably believe it's magic.

Show it to a true man of God, and he'll think it's God's laws, used to make man's things.

Now, EXPLAIN to me how HDTV truly works, ALL of the ins-and-outs?

All you know is that it works.  You trust in science, with NO proof, and call me ignorant for my beliefs?  We (for the most part) don't TRULY understand how ANYTHING really works, but we trust in it TO work:  electricity, phones, TVs, radios, etc.  Yes, we have basic concepts of how they work, but the actual nitty-gritty?

You know what?  THAT's what Christian's should be asking ~ if science is your god, tell us about "it."  Explain "it's" motives, what "it's" message is, how "it" cares about "it's" creation.  Too many things in SCIENCE can't be explained ~ we know they "work," but we don't know why nor how.

Same with God.  Only God gives a care about each of us, and offers us peace and rest in His love/kindheartedness.

I wanna know why my dick always sticks to my right leg. It's a 50-50 chance and it always goes right. If I reach into my left front pocket to get some change there's nothing in the way and I always punch myself in the balls.

Science can't explain it so it must be God's will.

Show it to a man of God from the same era and he'll probably think it's some infernal work of the devil...not some man made thing derived from God's laws.

Science isn't an entity so it can't have motives, or care about a creation.  It does not provide meaning.  Asking those sorts of questions would be pointless.

Science is a body of knowledge developed through the scientific method.  It specifically does explain how things work.  Radios are not some magical mystery that no one can really explain - the nitty gritty is deeply fleshed out.  Most people might not have the knowledge of circuitry or the laws of electricity and magnetism that explain its operation, but that doesn't make it a mystery if someone is genuinely interested in understanding its operation.  There are plenty of difficult questions being asked in various fields of study without good answers...technological developments like radios or telephones, though, aren't very good examples.

Wasnt there a story about how in the end Jesus will come back to earth and split people into two groups. left and right. right are the good'uns and left the bad'uns...?

I think it must be Gods will too.

Please don't be a fuktard, nor treat me like one over this.

We CAN explain that, using science.

But it is a LAW, a NATURAL LAW of our universe.  Big whoop.  We figured something out.  Now, we know how God planned on us remaining earthbound, instead of being thrown out into the universe.

It's the duct tape.  He tapes it back and to the right.  He's just looking to blame it on Jesus.

My post was in your favor silly. Science has absolutely no idea how or why gravity works, and they're not too happy about it.

Lose the persecution complex please.

Hmm on religion I dunno alot of its cultural.I think its good that people have a way of life/philosophy etc that means they have an identity in the world and beyond.Whats bad is when it creates robots.

BTW I wonder how many people have checked out that Coolove shit from Skipedo Stone?
Why is it America has wacko cults but Britain doesn't so much..?

what are juggalos ?  :o

I actually like the chav ethos in a way.
Wearing burberry because the "Queen" did, and its "quintessentially upper class English gent".
And refusing to work at McDonalds. That makes me laugh really.

If they burned down Buckingham Palace or sthg worthwhile, then I'd give em 11 out of 10.

Re: This might catch on... Reply #88 on: August 20, 2009, 06:46:05 PM
Ress, you've obviously never met a chav.

According to urban dictionary juggalos are something to do with the ICP and loserishness.
