some dxm products are time released by means of an edible plastic called polistirex
the problem is, polistirex takes 3 hours to break down in your stomach!
so, i'm trying to find a substance that will break down polistirex BEFORE you consume it
this way, it kicks in as fast as regular HBr does.

Cold water extraction??? For DXM? Are you 100% sure about this? I've never read that anywhere. Usually CWE is for opiates.

i've personally used CWE on tens of thousands of mg's.
since its coated in plastic, it isn't chemically combined in the liquid like robo, c's, etc
the dxm is heavier than the syrup, and when you mix it with a lot of water, it just sinks to the bottom of the bag in about an hour,
and it yields about 90%

Acidic juices are good at breaking down encapsulation: Orange, Grapefruit, Pineapple, Tomato ~ like that. You could cover a capsule with your choices (or experiment around with all of 'em), and, by moving the containers slightly every so often, and monitoring the effects, you'd have a pretty good idea of where to begin. You'd also need to consider the effects of the bile in your stomach.
Please understand, i am NOT recommending this for the purposes you propose, but for other folks who may need for certain scrips to work a little faster.

Why don't you just do one of the many other methods of ingestion that are easier and cheaper? That's a lot of work when you can get DXM HBr in easy to consume form whenever you want.

if i try to extract dxm hbr, thats not CWE, thats agent lemon, alot more diffiulty, less yield and, do you want to mix ammonia and lighter fluid to something your going to consume?
i'll stick with getting a higher yield, with less chemicals, then just get the plastic off.
its easier than HBr extraction, more effective, this is the future of dxm!

Its not the fact that its a lot of work, but for example in his area DXM HBr isn't able to be found. Plus the method is needed for more than just one reason, hell, knowing that a form of CWE can work on DXM is new to me so he basically found a new method to extracting DXM and is just trying to finish the DXM by getting the polistirex off. :P

What I'm saying is: YOU DON'T NEED TO DO AN EXTRACTION OF DXM. There are a few sources of pure DXM (or with Guaif which is totally safe and most people don't get sick off of) in pill form in the USA. Robitussin Gels and Mucinex DM for example.

You're actually proving your stupidity here quite well. I don't think you're quite sure who you're talking to; trust me, I know my drugs.
A. Guaifenesin is practically non-toxic and doesn't cause nausea in myself or many many people I have personally talked to.
B. ROBITUSSIN GELCAPS CONTAIN PURE DXM.
No offense, but do some fucking research before you start making claims. It pisses me off. And for the record, telling me I'm dumb when it comes to drugs is like telling Bill Gates he doesn't know how to work a computer.

Ok, so by pure you mean 100% pure powder. My point still stands, you'll get the same effect of pure powder (I know, I've had it plenty) without any nasty side effects if you just pop a bunch of Robo gels.
As for your question, I'm not sure about the answer, and unless you get an answer from Doormouse than don't expect anyone else here to know.

Man I think DXM is a fuckin exclusive drug that only real people with open & strong minds can handle and even appreciate. Take the actual drug from the "Cough Syrup" label and try somethin REAL that you wouldn't be able to handle because you don't smoke it from a stem.

Yeah. DXM is actually a dissociative in large doses. I wouldn't call it a downer. It basically creates a disconnect between the mind and body, and not in a way I would say is particularly "mind expanding." It's more of a sweaty, paranoid, confused, sick-to-your-stomach kind of high.

Well that's the opinion of someone who hasn't been blessed with the ability to experience the wonder and most definite mind expansion that DXM can bring. It's right up there with LSD for mind expansion in my book.....just in a different way.

i was wondering if there was some way to Strain Off the actual plastic particles...
A Gravy Separater might do it ~ i would expect the plastic to float, and by being on top, to stick to the sides of the gravy sep. spout.
Also, i have a tea-strainer thing, that is made of super-fine mesh, as big around as a silver dollar, that is hinged to swing open and you release it for it to remain closed, that might be monkeyed around with / customized to Double Strain your liquids.
Just my thoughts...
Oh, and yes, the pestle and mortar would be a good way to crush them ~ hospitals do that for patients that can't take pills, easily.
