Re: Music Reply #10 on: August 11, 2009, 07:08:30 PM
The Arcade Fire - Wake Up
have had this album forever but got really hooked on this song again from watching the where the wild things are trailer

Chemical Brothers - The State We're In
love the chemical brothers and this one sticks in my head for days

Brand Nubian - All For One
listening to a lot of late-80s/early-90s rap lately.  this has been one of my all-time favorite rap tracks for a long time.

VIOLENT FEMMES-Add it Up
listening to the violent femmes self-titled album a bunch lately, never got into them much until recently.  someone got this album for me years ago and only recently did i really get into it.

The Scientists (Kim Salmon) - We had love
from the rocknrolla soundtrack, great film, great soundtrack.

LCD Soundsystem - All My Friends
this one stuck with me for a long time.
Pour the wine, hold the grind, quarter to nine, let's go.

Re: Music Reply #12 on: August 18, 2009, 09:33:36 PM
mostly just my friends bands, since theres not much of anything good going on right now. waco and crime desire both put out pretty good lps not too long ago. i just got the new northern towns 10" this weekend, havent listened to it yet but it should be good.

uh i like hammers of misfortune but their last double lp or 2 separate lps or whatever it was kind of sucked, i think they went through some line up changes. but slough feg is still good, unless you get stuck seeing them with the sword and a million faggot hipsters.

riot city singles collection and then mostly rocksteady + skinhead reggae stuff and immortal technique i guess thats kind backpacker but oh well

Mainly Blind Guardian, Dragonforce, Ensiferum and Dream Evil at work. Cradle of Filth, Bauhaus, Fields of the Nephilem, Type O Negative, and anything Susumu Hirasawa made where ever I want to make people look at me funny.

I listen to Air Supply.

A lot.

You've said that before, and i'm never real sure when you joking around, but if you aren't:

Have you listened to MSG?  Bread?  MSG gets a little harder, and Bread is just as light as Air Supply.

Aldo Nova, if you like it a bit harder?

DMG$+Xrabit - Ferris Bueller

I Make Her Say (I Poke Her Face) Kid Cudi ft. Kanye West & Common

Balmorhea - "San Solomon (Reprise)" Live

LMFAO - YES

Slim Thug "I Run"

Just a smattering. I'm all over the place. Electronica, noise, glitchtronica, shoegaze, experimental, post-rock, rap and hip-hop, dance, trance, but not a lot of rock. In fact, last year for SxSw I created a mix cd for this cd-exchange we were doing at work, and titled mine "K.Bs rock-free, 2008 SxSw CD".

Haha those guys were at Warped Tour this year. They were playing on one of the stages near the beer area, so we got to hear them some (and see the crowd they attracted... let's just say these weren't the same dudes in the Bad Religion pit). They were fucking hilarious.

I had the joy of interviewing Kai. Great guy! I play Real World from Land of The Free II, almost every show. It's just a great atheist anthem. And for Coffin Syrup... Here's a clip of a show they played... They are a local grind band. love them! In fact, I am wearing their shirt in the assless panties picture in the other thread.

I got asked to go on tour with this band named The Applicators.  Hopefully, crosses fingers, I will get paid to go to Europe.

Re: Music Reply #28 on: August 24, 2009, 01:50:35 PM
There's little music I can't appreciate in some way if I'm in the right mood. Most recently I've been on a bit of a Dave Brubeck, George Shearing, Paul Desmond, Chick Corea kick. I feel like I'm drifting drone-wise, though. Some solid shoegaze may be in order shortly...

Re: Music Reply #29 on: August 24, 2009, 05:52:00 PM
Try some drone metal, like Sunn O)))
