Pretty much for the first time in 60 years....

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/8229368.stm

It's going to be interesting watching the new faces try to dig out all of the old bureaucracy that is the Central Ministry. At least the fact that having non-elected officials in charge = stupid was finally noted.

I'm pretty excited by this, if only because I have somewhere to flee to if it all turns pear-shaped.

Come meet the new boss, same as the old boss!
Pour the wine, hold the grind, quarter to nine, let's go.

And it's pretty much settled

This will be interesting to watch, if you can see anything that is. Basically a bunch of behind-the-scenes power-brokers are now shifting into "save their jobs" mode.

If you want to know what I'm talking about, read about the system that is being replaced

That's funny that a link to a news article with a video in it appears on the board as just the video. Oh well

..yet if you have no home, you cant vote. That's fucked up.

Change was needed for the social issue Jap is having, but I'm not sure its going to work. The child allowance might fuck things up.

A asked a couple of Japanese mates and they said she's famous for being a kook. Apparently having a batshit crazy woman in the background is less of an issue over here.
