Loaded-Gun.com - I don't know what the hell they are talking about or why they are even there. They don't make serious points and they don't joke, but they still manage to make a lot of posts somehow.

Exclusivity is old fashioned.  It does bum me out a little bit.  BUT I am one of those chicks who likes to fuck around on my boyfriends... however if they do it to me I am like, "ah hell nah! You ain't tryin' to play me like that.."  I'm retarded.

Re: Exclusivity Reply #3 on: October 04, 2009, 12:42:13 AM
My attitude has always been - I don't care where you go or who you hang with because I trust you. As soon as you break that trust it's over and you're worthless to me.

Yeah but what if someone is telling you "I don't want to be exclusive".  What the fuck are you supposed to say to that?

Let me translate what she said: "It is all about me and what I want in the moment and if someone else's feelings or physical well-being gets in the way of my poor impulse control and lack of loyalty and infuriating flightiness in general, too bad for them. "Them" meaning: You."
It's truly a shame I am no longer there to yell at girls to make out with you.

I don't trust anybody. My attitude is:
Go where you will and hang out with whoever you wish because I'm your equal and not your master. But as soon as you fuck around on me it's over and you're worthless to me.

Re: Exclusivity Reply #10 on: October 04, 2009, 03:00:53 PM
Gwrar. I am usually trusting, but I am somewhat nervous in my current situation. My gal pal, is finishing up in college and with that goes partying and hanging out and shit a lot, and because she is attractive she gets lots of attention. We have our separate lives as well as our together lives. We haven't introduced each other to any of our friend's, and I am fine keeping that separate. So I'll go out and do stuff with my friends and she with hers, and sometimes I worry. In fact on Thursday she told me that after class last week some random guy was on the elevator with her and asked for her phone number.

As long as we're exclusive in bed, making out, etc. I'm fine. If she breaks that trust (because I won't be), it's ADIOS PUTANA, CRAIGSLIST here I COME!

Re: Exclusivity Reply #11 on: October 04, 2009, 04:05:50 PM
If she was cheating on you why would she tell you about that guy?

Personally I find the idea of not being automatically exclusive when dating real weird...

Re: Exclusivity Reply #12 on: October 04, 2009, 04:26:09 PM
Ditto.
ever tried. ever failed. no matter. try again. fail again. fail better.

You are so wrong in your translation.  Allow me:  "I don't want to be exclusive with you right now because I feel like I am too hot for you and I can find someone better.  I don't mean to hurt your feelings, but seriously, look at me and look at you."

Re: Exclusivity Reply #14 on: October 06, 2009, 01:29:28 PM
that's more like it.

Re: Exclusivity Reply #15 on: October 06, 2009, 01:56:47 PM
As far as I'm concerned, you've only added evidence which backs my statement.
It's truly a shame I am no longer there to yell at girls to make out with you.

Re: Exclusivity Reply #17 on: October 06, 2009, 04:29:29 PM
I can understand exclusivity on a number of dimensions (biological, economic, social), and I can also explain to myself why each one should not matter in a rational, modern world.

But logic can only go so far towards altering the chemical reactions in my brain; so, prior to entering any kind of relationship with anyone of value, I apply logic and make projections based on available facts as to whether or not the relationship could last.  If I see more bad outcomes than good ones, I don't pursue the topic.

Since I can't change neural chemistry with logic, I will modify my external environment through its application.  Now THAT'S retarded.

Unadulterated logic will lead your head just as surely up your ass as will unabated navel-gazing.

The only logic I applied to any thought about women was before I proposed to my wife. You need to do that, a life together takes some planning.

Before that? Fuck no, logic is wasted on women, 90% of whom just want to be made to feel special and get the occasional free french dinner out of the bargain.

I stand by this statement. Also make her come every so often. You shouldn't have to start using logical thought until 6-12 months in.
