I just needed verification so I can throw it in my Mother-In-Laws fuckin face next time she goes off on me.

You know Marie Barone from "Everybody Loves Raymond"? She is kinda like that only more prone to verbal outburts. And with a gambling addiction. And my MIL is one of those "red hat ladies".

Yeah. You're jealous. I can tell.

Re: More medical issues. Reply #255 on: June 23, 2012, 12:50:19 AM
Alright, so the last two weeks have been the most uncomfortable of my life.

About 3 weeks ago I woke up in the middle of the night scratching my left leg with my toenail of my right foot. The itch was incredible. The next morning I looked at my leg and there was a small circle (slightly larger than a half dollar) of inflamed hair follicles and it itched like fuck. My first thought was oh shit, folliculitis AGAIN (remember I got that on my pubic area along with eczema a couple of years ago). I ignored it and tried to not scratch it. The weekend after I first noticed it I went downtown with some buddies and got wasted. Ended up puking at work in the kitchen and the bathroom and falling asleep in my office for a few hours. When I woke up, still drunk, BOTH legs itched incredibly bad. I looked, and now there was no longer a regular "circle" on my left leg, there were many hair follicles there were red and even some on my right leg.

As the week went on it got worse and worse and itchier and itchier. The heat, and this being fucking summer in Texas, made it unbearable. It continued to spread up my legs and from the front of my legs to the back. I kept waking up itching myself and then it got so bad I didn't sleep more than an hour a night for 4 days because the itch was horrific. I took a warm shower one day and was this close ---> <---- to jumping out my bathroom window. The pain and itch the warm water caused was like nothing else I have ever experienced in LIFE, EVER. So I started taking cold showers which helped immensely. A week ago from today I went to the urgent care clinic after work to see what the fuck was going on.

Dr. thought it was folliculitus because I had it before, and so gave me a cream and antibiotics and told me to come back Tuesday if it wasn't helping. It didn't help in the slightest and the hair follicle issue starting spreading to my upper torso, to my arms first, and then a bit on my stomach. I went back on Tuesday and explained everything. Luckily there was a dermatologist onsite that day so she came in and I explained everything and she looked me over and said it is eczema. I'm in the terrible itch-scratch cycle that has just fucked my immune system up by breaking blood vessels and cappilaries from scratching and my skin is just erupting because of it. There are now spots that have coalesced and are no longer just inflamed hair follicles. But I have been using 4 different creams, and some sleeping pills/antihistimines that the doc gave me and have been finally able to sleep and not rip at my flesh all night.

Of course this fucking sucks that I have a date tomorrow and I have to wear long sleeves on the hot summer day to cover up the nasty redness on my arms and I definitely won't be getting naked anytime soon with this girl, unless the lights are off.

Here's a photo of my leg which I took earlier in the week, and of my stomach I took tonight, where the worst of the itching has migrated.

FUCKKKKKKKK.

Jeez almighty man, how it that going to coincide with your current dates?

See that's one reason I haven't tried in a long while. I only have a few visible patches but enough to create a non-enticing visual when wearing shorts.

The swelling shout go down, and keep in air conditioned places; heat will flare this up ....
... you have a 10 day lay-period with this with the right drugs/creams
... if you'd posted the pics a few days ago, I'd have told you to use "Butt Paste"
... it actually works, and quite well, for this
... hopefully, you didn't scratch enough to get Impetigo, I'd add a tad of Neosporin to the mix to be sure

... let us know how it works out

Well for the date, I'm wearing a long sleeve and pants. I'll have to turn her down haha if she asks me back to her place. I'll just say I don't fuck on the first date.

Dave, today the itchiness is almost gone. My legs are noticeably getting better, the worst is now my stomach and upper arms. Thankfully this shit didn't get on my face.  I've been using Cetaphil lotion and body wash, as well as cortisone create. I added in some Neosporin in the really bad areas. I've been a cave dweller for a week or two, only going outside to go to work and get food. MUST STAY IN AC.

Re: More medical issues. Reply #259 on: June 23, 2012, 04:45:26 PM
Those pics made me itchy.

Back in 1999, during my first pregnancy, I got PUPP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pruritic_urticarial_papules_and_plaques_of_pregnancy. While not what you have, it is hell. It was also summer in Iowa (upper 90's with 99% humidity). I completely understand how miserable you must feel.

Are the cool showers helping?

I'm still not sure if I believe that these supplements that my best friend (the Scientologist) gave me yesterday morning to start taking for my eczema are helping, but it sure as hell looks like it's helped. He's a nutritionist that does "nutrition response testing", which I never believed in but... I've seen results overnight basically.

Look at the photo above of my stomach which is what it looked like Friday evening when I posted it.

This is what it looks like today (took this 10 minutes ago):

It's not itchy at all and looks like to be rapidly clearing up. The supplement he gave me (among a couple of others) that he said would help is "Copper Liver Chelate". He says copper helps keep moisture in your skin.

He also suggested I throw out my laundry detergent (Cheer) and get 7th Generation and that Cetaphil is ok for my soap, but a better one would be an all natural soap at Whole Foods.

Huh, interesting. Can you get too much copper to where it becomes toxic? I didn't know we even needed copper - he said you can get it from vegetables.

It's just strange that we need Zinc, Copper, Iron... I don't understand it.

Re: More medical issues. Reply #266 on: June 24, 2012, 05:08:56 PM
yeah, i'd be concerned about taking a copper supplement... seems like it could be a risky thing to take?
you treat me like a monologue ho

Re: More medical issues. Reply #267 on: June 24, 2012, 05:37:07 PM
Yeah, I thought so as well. Check out this wiki on it it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copper_in_health

Specifically:

Quote
Adults

The World Health Organization recommends a minimal acceptable intake of approximately 1.3 mg/day.[53] These values are considered to be adequate and safe for most of the general population. In North America, the recommended intake of copper for healthy adult men and women is 900 micrograms/day (0.9 mg/day).[54][55][56] Health benefits above the recommended adequate intake of 0.9 - 1.3 mg/day have not been established.

In North America, a maximum tolerable intake has been established at 10 mg/day. This is the highest level of copper intake that is not likely to pose a health risk to most adults in the general population. However, this daily intake level is not recommended by any authority.

My buddy is having me take 3x 2mg pills a day for a total of 6mg/day. I may stop it soon if it continues to work as well as it has the past day.

Another interesting little factsheet about these metals:

http://www.copperinfo.co.uk/health/downloads/copper-iron-zinc-factsheet-nov-09.pdf

Re: More medical issues. Reply #268 on: June 24, 2012, 05:51:48 PM
Zinc is a typical ingredient in most dandruff shampoos but copper is still a bit rare.

Should we suck on pennies?
