Update:  I've selected ~100 pictures that I like.  Many pieces of Nick's stories are represented in these photos, and I'll do my best to tie things off.

Uploading the whole set to a PB now; I'll try to put some up tomorrow morning before heading into work.

Somehow all the videos and pictures have been deleted from off of my camera.  Also, I noticed these little brown bugs the size of bed bugs all over my house yesterday as well.  AND to top it off my band account is negative, I'm unemployed, and I still have back-acne.  There is a pox on my house!

stupid question: does your PC delete them when you copy them to your computer?

What type of memory card does your camera use? DON'T take any more photos/videos with it or you risk never getting anything back!!!! The ones that were deleted, may actually be easy to recover. Google "recover photos from sd card" or "compact flash card" etc. There are tons of programs. Like this: http://www.cardrecovery.com/

I have personally used F-Recovery and recovered 90% of the accidentally deleted data from an SD card.

The memory card is a sony cybershot NP-FR1 card.  It is really strange because all the icons on my desktop except for the recycle bin have disappeared as have all my files such as mp3's and jpg's.  It's very odd.

I got all the way to recovering the files and then it wanted to charge me $29.95.  While my bank account is negative, the pictures and videos will be considered lost forever.

Kyle/Luke - pony up

How am I even supposed to keep caring about putting these photos up, when I've spent about 20 minutes trying to link the first dozen?

Any time I try to post more than a few pictures in a single post, I get timeouts at the mySQL DB.  In some cases, it won't even let me do it image-by-image.

This is fucking ridiculous.

Not sure when we finished, late, tired.

Wake up, very hungover. Later investigation revealed that I had drunk waaaay more than I thought I had, coming off a 3 day blitz before people arrived this was tough.

Go to hotel and pick up everyone.

 

Museums are closed so we go to Harajuku

The events that followed were in approximate order: Nick is told what he needs to buy > stare blankly at wall a few times...

o-daiko and I head up to meiji shrine in the midle of a forest and see the first of 3 traditional Japanese weddings with a foreigner husband involved.

Luke finds a praying mantis

We wander into a side-garden on the way back

(the sign says "lavatory".  doesn't nick look like he's pooping?  haha!)

Get on train and go to Shibuya, wander around for a while

Brook buys condoms at condomania.

Dinner was a quiet one at an izakaya

Get to Hiroshima, ... and walk over to shukkeien.

I loved the garden, any time I spend in Japan that is not in Tokyo is good as far as I can tell.

At about 3 I realized we were only 10 minutes walk from Hiroshima castle

the others were over by another shrine drinking beer so we had a sake

For dinner we had Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki

and then proceeded to lay waste to a Karaoke box a few floors up.

but not before getting some videos of people jumping all over a room.

Tricky goes to sleep so Sasha, Luke and I go down to the lounge and sit around talking.

Sasha goes back to bed and Brook wants to go to an art museum so the rest of us get on a tram and head over toward the atomic memorial.

so we just laid around in the hostel.

Luke, Brook and I wandered off to try find a bar

but didn't manage it,

had some snacks in a ramen shop

and went home.

Gather up all our gear and Kyle and head off to the station.

catch a local train out to Miyashimi-kuchi and a ferry

across to Miyajima.

My favorite stop of the week, lots of deer walking around everywhere

Luke, Ian and I wandered into the foothills

and found some great little temples

very very cool.

jumped on the train and away.

I go find Yusuke. Luke, Kyle, Ian, Danni and I head to an Izakaya with him for much salad and yakitori and shochu.

I find the others after a while and we head off to Ameyokocho

which is a market area around Ueno station.
