This weekend was fun; lots of sex, and lots of drinking. Lots of "firsts" too. Had a couple of Irish car bombs for the first time, and go damn they're good. I sucked 'em down faster than anybody else at the bbq I was at yesterday. Mainly because everybody was like "YOU GOTTA DOWN IT BEFORE IT CURDLES!!" What sucks is you're so concentrated on downing the damn drink, you don't get to enjoy it except for the after-taste. But damn, that's a tasty ass after-taste.

What are some other really good mixed drinks?

I used to always buy chicks Amaretto sours... Back when I knew chicks...

I personally rather like Rob Roys but that's just me.

Appropriately so, because car bombs are pretty gay drinks.

If you order all three drinks seperately at J. Patricks, you save a couple of dollars.  More than that, really, because a shot of whiskey is always a double.

Three? Isn't it just a shot of Irish whiskey dropped into half a pint of Guinness?

There's Baileys in there too which is why it curdles.

Re: Irish car bomb Reply #6 on: March 24, 2009, 06:40:59 PM
Ah, right. I've had those a couple of times, and they're pretty tasty, but I'd really just rather a pint of Guinness and a shot of whiskey, seperately.

Liquor + Ice, an old favorite.
Pour the wine, hold the grind, quarter to nine, let's go.

I just buy mine pre-blended.

Are you saying you're not planning to be part of the Bushmills on Bushmills with a sidecar of Bushmills party when I finally make it to NYC?

Re: Irish car bomb Reply #13 on: March 24, 2009, 10:41:35 PM
I do plan on being at that party! But where does the Jameson and Paddy's and Strongbow come in?

I know it's kinda plainJane, but can never go wrong with whiskey sour, or amaretto sour, or tequila sour. I like it sour.
TiCa LoCa 20 (8:48:24 PM): Ewlk Jerz stinks like bad eggs baby shyt and bad perm...

I agree. But, only when you are on the NJTP coming back from the NYC. The bay WREAKS

Oh Yeah?

Lemon Party, sour?
Like yours.  Only different.

Re: Irish car bomb Reply #18 on: April 07, 2009, 09:55:10 PM
I've never had any of those. I saw a whiskey sour made on one of those cooking shows the other day and it looked pretty good, but like lots of work and I'm not sure it wouldn't just be a waste of good whiskey. Amaretto sour sounds sickly sweet, and tequila is disgusting when mixed with anything, and I wouldn't waste good tequila on a mixed drink - nor would I drink crap tequila.

I'm a snob.

I guess I have to try fine tequila. Whatever I've been drinking for tequila is totally vile.

What's a good light tequila? I think it's the heavy cactoid flavor that gets to me the most.
I'm looking for the equivalent in terms of tequila that scotch is to whiskey in general.
Or are all the good tequilas heavy flavorful drinks?
