As for the rest of it:

1)  I don't want to stop in Kyoto.
2)  I'm okay with staying in a hostel, dorm-room style, and I don't need a bed or anything; if it's short beds, then our feet will just hang off and Kyle can laugh at us in triumph.

I think it's a good idea, especially for those arriving from the States, jetlag is not fun folks

Awww...

I want to get more agreement before I book another night @ gracery.  That shit's expensive.  ;)

I'll bring it up next staff meeting
Loaded-Gun.com - I don't know what the hell they are talking about or why they are even there. They don't make serious points and they don't joke, but they still manage to make a lot of posts somehow.

you get to cancel one night though....

Wait, so to do this, all we need to change is one of Lucas's hotel dates and make sure Kyle also books a twin room on the dates Ian mentions.

Is this OK? It give everyone a day to chill and get over the jetlag, before we blaze out west.

I'm getting srsly excited about this trip.

Re: Final Plan Reply #187 on: August 31, 2009, 02:59:13 AM
I wanted to go to Kyoto but I am not going to go by myself so if no one wants to go then I don't think I will want to go since I can't track down my friend Kana who lives there.  I fly out the 7th at 7:05pm btw not the 8th.  Can Luke please let me know how much the train tix are and where to get them????? I will call Luke tomorrow regardless.  I know that we don't have a show worked into the schedule but I would like to go to some crazy fun club, please!

EDIT:  What about........

Does anyone want to go to Kyoto? I can book a night for you guys on the way back from Hiroshima? Kyoto is seriously cool and you can get your temple fix in in one place. It's also SUPER easy to get around, as they have an excellent bus-route and an all-day bus pass that goes everywhere you'll want to go. If anyone wants to do this let me know and I'll plan it for you, I've done Kyoto four times and I can put together a 1-night tour in about 10 minutes. Check it out on wikipedia and let me know.

Me too!

And ok with whatever you guys want to do as far as traveling to different areas.

Re: Hiroshima Reply #189 on: September 01, 2009, 02:28:09 AM
Tell me confirmed dates for things and I will start booking things.  Luke told me that we don't have to pay for the hotel until we get there.  As for jetlag, I've never really experienced it because I've always been too drunk to notice.

Re: Final Plan Reply #190 on: September 01, 2009, 02:30:09 AM
The only reason I wanted to go to Kyoto was because my childhood friend lives there.  Seeing as how I cannot get into contact with her, I don't really have a reason to go.  It kind of bums me out... oh well.

Final Check - Hotels & JR Passes Reply #191 on: September 02, 2009, 12:41:52 AM
Wait any longer than this and you risk rooms being booked out.

As per the Hiroshima thread, the dates we will stay in Tokyo are 1-2 & 5-6 November.

Kyle/Sasha - Please book your rooms, either together or apart on those nights sometime this week. You guys don't want to be stuck catching the last train back to Shinjuku (west Tokyo) when we're all partying in Shinbashi (SE Tokyo)... FYI a cab back to where you stayed last time Kyle would be about $50-70 per trip.

Lucas - Please adjust your booking at the Gramercy as per the Hiroshima thread.

I've had no comments on the Hiroshima rooms so I'm gonna lock them in hopefully tonight.

Lastly - everyone has their JR passes (or has ordered), yes?

Re: Final Check - Hotels & JR Passes Reply #192 on: September 02, 2009, 01:23:11 AM
JR Rail voucher is in hand.

I'll book my room tomorrow evening, and verify.

Re: Final Check - Hotels & JR Passes Reply #193 on: September 02, 2009, 02:11:07 AM
JR pass is imminent.

All the rest is a lock

Re: Final Check - Hotels & JR Passes Reply #194 on: September 02, 2009, 05:06:48 AM
Room at Gracery booked but no JR rail pass yet.  I haven't ordered it.  I can't order it until the 15th of this month because I have to pay rent and bills.  If I can't get it on or before the 15th and this makes or breaks my ability to travel outside of Tokyo, then I won't travel outside of Tokyo.  k?

Well, Sasha still has 7 weeks to get the rail pass... no biggie...

And Dave, I think can be written off at this stage.

Re: Hiroshima Reply #199 on: September 02, 2009, 08:20:30 AM
which way have you usually gone? West to east? That's not so bad. If you fly east to west over the Intl Date line, then that's when you body clock gets fucked up.

Re: Hiroshima Reply #200 on: September 02, 2009, 08:29:57 AM
yah, day becomes night and night day. I HATE flying to the east coast of the US.

It gets worse the more unhealthy you are. First time I did it I was a mess, and I was overweight and drinking. Last time I has lost 20 lbs and was fitter and it weren't so bad. From what I've read on here the first night could be a casualty ward

I was pretty out of it for two days or so, but drinking lots of coffee helped. The first night I got absolutely no sleep.

Re: Final Check - Hotels & JR Passes Reply #209 on: September 03, 2009, 02:54:31 AM
I booked a Ladies Room at the Gracery, no boys allowed!  I couldn't buy that rail pass because my roommate doesn't have a job and I had to cover her rent and bills.  I hate roommates.  I am going to get my own place when I turn 30.  It will be my birthday present to myself that year.
