Yeah, apparently there is a United Heritage Credit Union at the airport that exchanges currency, but I don't like the idea of at the last minute having to hope that they have enough yen on hand. Maybe I will just order some if they can get it to the bank in a couple of days.

Link to United Heritage Credit Union @ Bergstrom. http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/austinairport/personal_svcs.htm

I also called the Four Seasons because I heard they have one, and since it's right next door to where I work that would be easy, but they only provide hotel guests with the service.

Looks like I'm staying at the Four Seasons Wednesday night!

Nick, what's the weather like now? I'm assuming we should bring at least light jackets/sweaters?

Re: Final Plan Reply #362 on: October 25, 2009, 01:39:18 AM
Cooler this week. You'll be arriving in mid-autumn. It's going to be jeans and sweater weather.
Loaded-Gun.com - I don't know what the hell they are talking about or why they are even there. They don't make serious points and they don't joke, but they still manage to make a lot of posts somehow.

Re: Money/Foreign Exchange Reply #363 on: October 25, 2009, 02:21:05 AM
Check the rate that airports exchange at, normally it's worse than anywhere else

It'll be better than having no yen at all.

yeah, but you may save $100 if you look around. Looking around takes effort and forethought however, something Kyle is terrible at

They'll have plenty of yen in Japan.  I'm just going to wait until I get there to do the conversion.

Heck, they'll have so many yen, they'll probably just be GIVING them away!

I'm bringing two jackets, scarves, a hoodie that is too tight, and a couple of sweaters.  CUTE!

Re: Money/Foreign Exchange Reply #369 on: October 26, 2009, 12:41:46 AM
Well if they are just giving them away in Japan I'm going to wait too!

Austin, Houston, LA, and NY airports should all have conversion stands.

Re: Money/Foreign Exchange Reply #374 on: October 26, 2009, 11:53:56 AM
Too bad I'm flying out of Austin before the bank opens.

Re: Final Plan Reply #375 on: October 26, 2009, 02:44:02 PM
Okay!  Dropped all my heels off at the shoe place to get re-heeled and went to the bank to get yen ordered.  All I need now is to pay my rent in advance and possibly get a camera.

You'd win without a doubt. I'm a pussy and never ask anyone to do anything with me in the way of affection/ touching.

What is this "Ziink AutoPage" bullshit that is suddenly showing posts from "Thrash Travelling to Japan updates"

I ordered some yen online from Bank of America this morning. Should be shipped to my bank in 1-3 business days. For $750 it cost me $30 + a $7.95 fee. Oh well.

It doesn't count if your significant other is in another country?  Is Japan going to have the, "what happens in Japan, stays in Japan" rules?!

Sasha & bagman, are you dressing up on the plane? I know Luke won't because he's lame like that.

I'm thinking about dressing up, but I haven't made up my mind yet. Someone suggested that I be a snake (Snakes On a Plane). I don't know...
