I wanna see it.  I'll probably download the shitty cam version.  I downloaded the cam version of Star Trek and highly enjoyed it nonetheless.

Nobody else has fuckin' seen this yet? What, am I the only comic-book-movie-loving dork on the board these days?

My boyfriend said it was alright.

I haven't seen it, don't plan it.

What, am I the only comic-book-movie-loving dork on the board these days?

You're less of a comic dork than me, and I hardly count as one.
But I know the history of Wolverine:  HE'S CANADIAN.  What was all of the bullshit about doing stuff for the US?
And I know the history of Gambit:  HE'S CAJUN.  Did you get that at all from his accent?  I sure didn't.  Not even a little.

As it is, the film industry is raping my childhood with all of these adaptations and maladjustments.

But once you get past how the movie story is different from the comic story, it was a decent action flick, with the right balance of combat, humor, and suffering.

Wolverine was Canadian in the movie. At the beginning they said they were in the "North-West Territories, Canada, 1845". Which IMDb informs me is an anachronism, as Canada wasn't Canada in 1845, it was "British North America". And when Stryker tells Logan that "his country needs him" he points out that he's Canadian.

And you're right about Gambit's accent, that kinda blew, but I think they got the feel of the character right. His powers seemed pretty accurate and the dude had the swagger right.

I was hoping for darker and bloodier, but knew it wouldn't happen.

And I was hoping for more out of Deadpool, who has always been my favorite Marvel character.

Supposedly there may be a Deadpool-specific movie.

I downloaded the ps3 demo of the game last night, and it was pretty bitchin.
Skybox, right up here in section La-Di-Dah.

I liked it quite a bit and the game of the same name is awesome as well.

I have both Donnie Darko and s.Darko in high quality and I just watched the new Star Trek yesterday and it was very good. but you might have to be really familiar with the original series to get all of the side points and personal connections between the cast.

I really hope so.  I think Ryan Reynolds would play that role pretty well, based on that character he played in Blade 3.

Re: Wolverine Reply #13 on: May 12, 2009, 10:42:36 PM
Yeah, that seems to be pretty much his only character that I can think of. If memory serves he was pretty much the same character in Van Wilder, same kinda cameo in H&KGtWC, then pretty much the exact same character in Blade 3 and Wolverine.
