Does anyone here like any pop music? Am I gay for liking some of it?

I like Kylie Minogue a lot, also recently heard Roisin Murphy who is sorta similar to Kylie.

I doubt any of you people like this kind of music though.
you treat me like a monologue ho

I like a lot of pop music but I'm sure there are other genres which are worse that I like.

Re: Pop music Reply #4 on: May 29, 2009, 08:36:59 PM
It's not that I like it, per say; it's that I have to know it, and I have to know how to spin/mix it ...
I'm ok with it when I'm actively listening to it (because I have to), and enjoy it at the time (to prevent myself from punching babies from listening to it) ...

I don't go out of my way to listen to it past that, though ...

I'm not a yes or no although I'm more of a NO over any other choice ...

Either I've gone completely soft, or pop music these days is way better than it has been in ages.

I think it's more tolerable lately ...
Either that or I'm just fucking numb to it by now ...

I dont listen to commercial stations, particularly ones geared to teen audiences. I have no idea what current pop music is.

So that rules out FOX, MMM, NOVA, and a whole bunch of other stations. Especially JJJ.

Lemme guess, its a bunch of watered down black music made safe for white suburban kids. Am I right?

Re: Pop music Reply #16 on: May 31, 2009, 03:58:45 AM
JJJ does have good genre programing.

Same here.  I can't keep up with all the kids.  Not since I was a teen have I known about the latest music.  I'll just listen to, well, all this: http://www.last.fm/user/drugmoth

Re: Pop music Reply #21 on: May 31, 2009, 10:25:01 AM
I don't listen to the radio at all, but Amy and her gal-pals listen to some of the new pop stuff. Lady Gaga, Lily Allen, etc. It's not my favourite music by any means but it's a lot more tolerable than pop was ten years ago, that's for sure.

Re: Pop music Reply #22 on: May 31, 2009, 03:43:00 PM
I think pop music is more tolerable, but it's mostly because it's all a straight rip-off of electronic music from 10-15 years ago with "personalities" adding vocals.

Re: Pop music Reply #23 on: May 31, 2009, 04:44:58 PM
Yeah, that makes sense.

As for Roisin Murphy, I've only heard one song:

Roisin Murphy - Ramalama (bang bang)

But it sounds nothing like Kylie Minogue to me...?

The red hair made me think of La Roux.
She's pretty popular here right now.

And she probably fits the electronic description. I think.

La Roux - In For The Kill

Re: Pop music Reply #25 on: May 31, 2009, 05:24:38 PM
definately not gay

i love pop

katy perry

britney spears ( the new britney)

natasha bedingfield

By the way, did anyone hear Britney's clever new song called If You Seek Amy? Say that title aloud. What does it sound like?

"All the boys and all the girls are begging to 'if you seek amy'"

when you read it, it does not make sense but, it's really:

If You Seek Amy ( F-U-C-K ME ) .. makes more sense-- eh?
TiCa LoCa 20 (8:48:24 PM): Ewlk Jerz stinks like bad eggs baby shyt and bad perm...

I agree. But, only when you are on the NJTP coming back from the NYC. The bay WREAKS

JJJ does have good genre programing.

RRR is better. At least in my opinion. You can stream it, but it might be too Melbournecentric.

Loaded-Gun.com - I don't know what the hell they are talking about or why they are even there. They don't make serious points and they don't joke, but they still manage to make a lot of posts somehow.

Nope, I shall give it a go. Can't be any any worse than ZZZ would be for you. ZZZ don't stream though, can't afford it.
