I'm older now, I've been the "most elite", I've been the "top dog" of the boards ...

I think MAYBE it's time to keep "Thrash" Inc. BBS!!! Systems alive, after almost 30 years, just, uhm, "simpler" ... (started when I was 9 years old) ...
Look it up, it's HISTORY; I've made my mark(s) in every phase of technology, however, I wanna keep it alive, but, with less effort, and more toward how thing are "today" ...

I think simpler is better. I definitely think combining things would be good.
I generally think (not your website particularly) that a lot of webpages get cluttered up with too much shit that detracts from their ability to either convey information or as a medium of communication. Video ads, non-intuitive navigation...I could make a huge list of all of the things I don't like about current web design. Generally, if it takes me more than 2-3 clicks to get where I want to go, I'm probably just going to go someplace else. And if websites are cluttered with video, flash, etc. I'm probably going to stop using them.

I absolutely agree with Emp.
Streamlining it would make it more attractive.
I like the features that it has, the games, ect. But things are hard to find, sometimes it runs slow and its just SO MUCH INFORMATION. Can you break it up a little?

As for the the forum, do what you want to. If this SMF thing works better for you, do it. If changing the site desgin works for you, do it.
Id like to see a common left hand side nav and forum design myself. or maybe the a-s version 2 teaser/splash page design.
Reason I dont use tsi much. A: load time ( script heavy ? ~shrug ) Why have a comments box when you gots a forum ? B: Nobody has answered the only question I have ever asked there. C: I dont really like people knowing my ip. I mean tom dick and harry...not you.

Yeah, before google really hit big it was really nice to be able to find a good site with tons of information. Sites like yours were one-stop-shops for people of a similar mindset.

Honestly, board with a lot of info were in vogue YEARS ago, in the dialup days ...
Now, with the advent of Google, and everyone ELSE hosting info, why should I bother maintaining large amounts of (useless) data? I mean, it's not about the "the more shit you have, the more users you get" thing anymore ...
Honestly, I spent almost a greand on my first 1GB drive, and I WAS THE SHIT in the day ... I was also one of the first to be 56k ... I also hold the distinction of being the FIRST telnetable OBV/2 BBS ...Again, for the day, I was the shit ... I was 'leet as fuck, however, I care less about being 'leet, I just want "Thrash" Inc. BBS!!! Systems to carry on after 28+ YEARS ...
It seems "simpler" is better and let everyone ELSE carry "mass info" ...
PS: Sasha, and others; you can CHANGE the theme from one of 50 themes to view it better ...
Point being, I'll offer 2 or 3 themes, and SIMPLIFY things ...

Dave you're doing it wrong.
Your way: I'm thinking of building and giving away new cars, they'll be called the Thrashinator 5000. It will come in 11 different colors with 6 different engine choices and 4 transmissions, 17 different tire treads and sizes. And you can pick it up anywhere.

I sort of agree with zoomie's explanation.
Thrash has a super car.
And the feed back was...while Ferraris are awesome in theory, we'd rather tool around town in a hatchback.

No it's a simple matter of streamlining to give people a low-maintenance product. Ask 100 people what you should do with a free product that most want, you'll get 100 answers and toss your streamlining out the fuckin' window.
