Unfortunately, this is what happens to free speech sites.  People carry things too far, and moderation has to be increased.  This is like a cancer spreading from site to site.

The only moderation has been to remove someones real name. I havent removed the posts, and dont intend to now that I have amended them to remove the real name. Everyone in the know still knows what is being discussed.

Like underclass, I'm not comfortable with a discussion about potentially criminal behaviour of another board on my board. The reason I am leaving it is that the ex HF users have steam to blow off, and for the most part, are doing so in a responsibly. Please keep real names out of the discussion, and be careful about what you post.

I'm hoping they'll take the appropriate action in appropriate forum if they believe there is criminal activities occuring elsewhere, as this message board IS NOT the forum to do so. I also hope, that once the steam has been blown off, the ex HF users will join in the other discussions around the board.

I just want it to be an enjoyable and informed forum.And it seems to have done a pretty good job at that.

There were many more issues than the nudity alone.
(And claims have been made  that the forums we had in mind had much commercial and intentional promotion of certain topics)
If anyone wants info, then I'd be delighted to assist when they contact me.
Other than that, I'm now more interested in the authorities and people who have complaints.

The FIRST thing has to be a set of RULES, that are for EVERYONE.

It pretty well goes without saying that slander and libel would be Against the Rules, as well as anything illegal, or spamming, so as long as no one oversteps those lines, there should be no problems.

The Problems start when the Rules aren't easy ~ and when you allow personal feelings to interfere with your banning process, and that's the fault of the owner(s) and their choice of Mods.

Allowances have to be made as well, and its a fine balancing act... I'm not about wholesale amendment or removal of anything I dont like, anybody here will tell you that. Bottom line is (in the absence of Thrash), its my board, if I make an amendment to a post, there's a damn good reason for it.

Exactly.  You guys seem to be so used to these dictatorship-like boards.  Anti-social.com was a minimally moderated board back in the 90's and the system just worked so well and kept going because all of the regulars here don't stir up much crazy shit.

Or photographed. I have no problem with nudity, I grew up running around on Spanish beaches, and when I have kids I want them to have a relaxed attitude to nudity as well. But would I want naked pics of my kids on the internet? Fuck no!

I agree with Zoomie on some of his points, the thing is you cant control the minds of other people in this regard. If someone gets off on that sort of imagery, then there's very little anyone can do except report observed behaviour. You cant change someone elses impulses without specialised medical help.

Case in point, recently (a year or two ago), an photo exhibition was raided in Sydney. The cause of the raid was a particular photo of a naked pre-adolecent girl. There wasnt any sexual connotations to the picture, but it was a full frontal nude, the picture was framed in an art exhibition, and the photographer has a long history of photo exhibitions of nude people, including children. None of the children were ever sexually handled during these photo sessions.

However, it was deemed child pornography by the moral keepers of this country, the photograph (amongst others) was confiscated and I believe destroyed, all sorts of bullshit political talking heads spouting dogshit about how it was evil, blah blah blah... The context of the photograph or of the exhibition was never considered. But apparently, all manner of perverts were going to attend, whip out their junk and beat off in front of said picture. Or so the empty vessels with nothing better to do than tell YOU how to live painted it that way.

Dont get me wrong, I'm not about defending the piece, I'm not comfortable with even being seen looking at even innocent pictures of naked children (Anne Gedes shit particularly annoys me), but context needs to be considered. Consider something else, airlines around the world will not sit a child traveling alone next to a man that is not known to the child, but will sit a child traveling alone next to a woman the kid doesnt know. Ummm if I'm not mistaken, 50% of child sex abuse acts are committed by women. And almost all child sex abuse acts are committed by people known to the child.

Its all fucked up, people, as usual, have their priorities all the wrong way around.

And before any of you decide to brand me a pedo, think about this. I have absolutely no desire what so ever to have anything to do with children. I have not bred. I dont like being around the children of friends of mine that have them. If I was seated next to a kid on a plane, that child is probably safer than with sitting their parents. And file sharing of images or video of children being sexually abused is as low as you can go... the only thing I can think of which is as sick is animal abuse.
