OK so last week I bought a cheap 1st Gen Ipod touch on Ebay, and after finally getting the 3.1.1 firmware loaded (and almost bricking it three times) I've been looking at apps for it.  Some of them are pretty neat.  Do any of you have an iphone/ipod Touch?  Recommend me some cool apps.

And no it's not jailbroken and I'm not gonna try to jailbreak it.  Like I said, I almost bricked it three times just trying to get the 3.1.1 firmware loaded and I don't wanna press my luck trying to fuck with it even more.  It wouldn't even take the 3.1.3 firmware without locking up so bad I had to DFU it to load the previous version.

I have a touch, nick and hip have iphones.

Edit: i <3 donut games, search them, i dont know if you will like them or not but some of their games are free and definitely good.

*if you wanna be cheap like me get an app to show you which apps are on sale, i just checked out my most fave apps and they all cost now whereas i got them free. (if you dont mind paying the ones i checked were chop chop runner, minigame party and b-boy beats).

I don't mind paying for the one or two dollar ones.  Those I've seen for 6 bucks and higher need to be damn good or useful before I'm gonna waste money on them.  And that one news app I tried out wanted a goddamn 6 bucks per month subscription to unlock the full version.  Who the hell pays that much for tiny news spams?

I might pay the 99 cents for the CNN alert app, or more likely just get the free MSNBC one.

I buy cheap sansa players, rockbox them, and use sdhc cards.

A quarter of the price for something that works well and you don't cry if it breaks.

Seriously, you can get 4gb Fuze for 27 bucks, get a 16gb sdhc card for 28 bucks, and blammo.

Yeah I have one of those, too.  Not a Fuze, but the 4GB model right before that, with Rockbox on it and a 4GB SDHC card that used to be in it but is now in my Samsung cell phone.

But I can play Go on my ipod touch.  That wins all.

Haha Yup!  My roomate is doing it right now on his Acer Aspire Netbook loaded with a WinXP/Mint 9  Linux multiboot setup.  Mint apparently immediately mounted my ipod touch's filesystem and he's looking through it on the netbook right now, calling out names of my pics and mp3's.  Neat.

Update on Linux thing:  Apparently you can also do the same thing with a Windows program I just downloaded called "Ifunbox".  It mounted the filesystem and everything just like Linux did, and I was looking through my pics and mp3's.  I think you still need to jailbreak it to load pirate apps and such, though.  At least I haven't figured it out yet.
