Yeah, crazy eh? I must admit I snopes'd it and found it on reliable news sites before I believed it. Apparently there was a similar one a few years back somewhere not far from there?

It's also a bit of a coincidence cuz I'd just been checking this out on wikipedia since I may be spending some time in Belize soon:
