Ah, then no. After reading a description of the cooking style, though, I think the restaurant we liked the most might have been inspired by Ital for their vegetarian dishes.
There was one Rasta restaurant on St John we were recommended, but we went on a hike through the national park on St John and missed her before she closed. It was only 2.2 miles according to the map, but it felt like one of the longest hikes I've ever been on - lots of switch backs and up and down hills. I don't believe it was actually only 2.2 miles of trail. I think it took us 2 hours, plus we sat on a overlook at the top of one of the mountains for an hour.
On St Thomas, every seemed to steer us away from anything local. I found that really weird. Also found it weird that we saw almost no black people, for an island that's 90% black or mixed. There's got to be some major social problems on that island.
