I had the best fried chicken sandwich of my life, yesterday. It was at a locally owned and operated chain restaurant. So damn good.  But the fries were meh.

I've been addicted to jalapenos lately. I have them sliced in a jar and I keep just snacking on them whilst I'm deciding what to eat. They just taste so damn good.

I understand they also have good things for your body.

I don't know that they help you shit, haven't noticed that. The potential for a burning sensation does exist though.

I went to the market in this city for the first time on friday and bought these hot chillies for quite cheap. I'm so excited.


CFT: Yesterday I made a really nice sweet and sour sauce despite having to substitute for every single ingredient in the list (except for water, I have water). Now that's a successful meal.

My wife was organizing her spices this weekend, partly trying to teach me the Hindi names & having me smell them, partly because she's super organized.

Then she made yellow dal, which is my favorite.  She likes her mother's better, but I like hers the best. 

Where is she from?

I prefer whole (brown) dals.

Pennsylvania.  Her parents are from Rajasthan though.

I haven't tried the chicken or lamb type stuff yet, but their beef burgers and mince are excellent.

They have cranberry & goat cheese Chik'n cutlets which I really like too.

They rolled the fake chicken out first in the US and they've been adding fake turkey & beef products.  I guess they have a ton more products in the UK than the US market.

Yeah, I was checking out the selection on the Tesco website the other day. Looks amazing. And I meant to say earlier, I'm not sure I'd take most "real" burgers over the quorn burger.

I've been dreaming about Giordano's pizza.  Problem is closest one is a 5 hour drive.

Been seriously considering having one Fed Ex'd to my house.
