Yeah, maybe. But I think the same is probably true of a lot of "classic" shows. If you weren't there at the time, it's just not gonna work. I mentioned Wings in another thread recently, and I think that's a good example. For me, that show is one of the best ever. But then I caught it in the early 90's when it was first syndicated and being shown on USA. It was relevant to the time, and what's more I pretty clearly remember that era, because I was there. Show some 17 year old Wings now, and they might well find it pretty dated and stupid. Or show it to some 27 year old in 2022, and the only reaction you're gonna get is, "WTF? why is there canned laughter constantly?"
