I mean sad that despite any actual evidence of any wrongdoing, this guy's whole life and legacy is ruined. Don't get me wrong, if it turns out that he was doing bad shit, then fuck him. But if his "crime" turns out to have been that he was gay, rich, and closeted, and people are just trying to take advantage, then this is sad.

I think the bigger deal is the role he was playing - people are hyper sensitive about kids.  I think the accusation of sex with a minor takes anyone on the Sesame Street team down.

If he's a character actor on sitcoms, a sub-A list actor in the movies, or similar, then it probably is in the tabloids for a few weeks and goes away regardless of gender.
