Has anyone else noticed how Music and sound effects in modern movies don't really set the mood intended and more often than not just make you want to shut the movie off?

I especially hate when there are passages where the people are whispering or talking so quietly that the background music overwhelms what they are saying. Or they talk so quietly that you crank up the volume to hear what they are saying then suddenly a train comes buy and blows out your speakers. ( just an example) could be explosions or whatever.

Really pisses me off. There is a fix for this (audio normalization) if the sound people on set or director had even a fucking clue how to balance the sound volumes.

I think sometimes it's done on purpose which is unfortunate for the movie involved.
Reality; A shared narrative we all agree to believe.

But seriously, yeah. Movies do that a lot these days, super quiet then WAY TOO FUCKING LOUD. It's annoying.
