Anyone observe this. I like the food but hate the very existence of Thanksgiving.

My wife and I skip all family events and go get Thai food instead.

Thai iced coffee is amazing.

Thai iced tea is good too.  And I really haven't had a Thai dish that I don't like thus far.  The only food I would pick over Thai is Indian.

Thai and Indian are both way up there for me too.

They have spicy food that is actually spicy! Mexican fare can't compete.

Most stuff you buy that says spicy or "Blazing Hot" is only mediocre at best.

I'm pretty into spicy food, and I've had some Mexican that just about blew my fucking face off.

But it sounds like you're talking about store-bought crap. And you're right, that sort of thing tends to be pretty weak.

I was recently in India... and the food was sublime. I got a chicken biryani in Mysore that was simply the best Indian dish I've ever had, and very cheap, the equivalent of AU$3 for a big pile of chicken and rice.

I've never had Mexican food that is as hot as Indian food. Mind you, I've never been to Mexico.

Which is a good point, actually. The really killer stuff I had was in Chetumal.
