rapaciousness

"1. Having or showing a strong or excessive desire to acquire money or possess things; greedy: "dishonest utilities and rapacious energy traders" (Paul Roberts). 2. Living by killing prey, especially in large numbers: rapacious coyotes."

Heard it in a show about how a gang of otters can take down monkeys, alligators and other creatures easily.

Almost worth a horror movie.

People being swamped by a tribe of wild otters while swimming near popular beaches, rivers whatever, it's a classic concept. And a bit gruesome to think about.

 Polyphagia

"Polyphagia, also known as hyperphagia, is the medical term for excessive or extreme hunger. It's different than having an increased appetite after exercise or other physical activity. While your hunger level will return to normal after eating in those cases, polyphagia won't go away if you eat more food."

I would bet there is!

You'd think such a person would eat himself to death in short order but apparently not. It seems their digestive tract evolves to handle the massive quantities!

I watched a video recently, see if I can find it.

It's more their voracity that is the issue ...
They can be quite violent if they don't get the required food ...
... and if they are "special needs" (outside of that condition) it only exasperates both potential situations
(which is what happened in that CSI episode)

Voracity Hahaha,

One of the guys on the video I watched ate a 14 month old baby, and that was after they chased him out of the morgue. The baby got him physically chased from the facility, somehow he got away.
