But I think the starter kit comes with SIM cards ...

So you only get the $5 deal the month after someone you referred sings up and activates their service, but what is the monthly cost normally?

Bank of the west has a deal where you can get up to $1000 for referring "Friends" per year if they open an account, but that's only $25 per referral so it takes having 40 friends to open an account to get that grand. I don't know anyone who has 40 friends who aren't already situated and don't need a new account.

But not being able to use it with any phone is a real deal breaker.
