Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish zombie, who was his own daddy, can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat the fruit of a magical tree.
It makes perfect sense!

Animal rights activists blockade McDonald's Demanding All Plant-Based by 2025(Read 1168 times)
Animal rights activists blockade McDonald's distribution centers, demanding 100-percent plant-based menu by 2025

An animal rights group is blockading McDonald's distribution centers in the United Kingdom and demanding the fast food chain go to a 100-percent plant-based menu by 2025.

"Animal Rebellion, a mass movement using nonviolent civil disobedience to call for a sustainable plant-based food system, is demanding that McDonald's becomes fully plant-based by 2025," the group said in a press release.

The group is blockading four of the main McDonald's distribution centers in the United Kingdom for 24 hours using trucks and bamboo structures to prevent the transportation of supplies to McDonald's in the U.K.

The group says over 1,300 McDonald's restaurants rely on these distribution centers and serve over 3.5 million customers a day.

"The meat and dairy industry is destroying our planet: causing huge amounts of rainforest deforestation, emitting immense quantities of greenhouse gases and killing billions of animals each year. The only sustainable and realistic way to feed 10 billion people is with a plant-based food system," James Ozden, a spokesperson for Animal Rebellion, said. "Organic, free-range and 'sustainable' animal-based options simply aren't good enough."

A spokesperson for McDonald's told The Associated Press it is looking into the impact this blockade will have, and apologized to its customers "for any disappointment caused."

The group says its protest will have a "significant disruption to the McDonald's supply chain."

I only have one question for stories/events like this right now:
Is it bad timing that states are lifting Covid restrictions as the good weather comes upon us?

People were protesting in spite of restrictions anyway. Lifting restrictions probably means more people have to go back into offices so you'd end up with fewer dumb protests like this.

I do find protests like this kind of funny. For one, meatless options like Impossible and Beyond burgers are pretty bad for you. They're higher in sodium, more highly processed, and have about the same amount of fat & saturated fat as compared to beef. They also play games with their analysis of sustainability and fail to disclose information about their supply chain sustainability (Beyond got a score of 0 by S&P Market Intelligence for transparency).

I also think the focus on animal agriculture is kind of dumb. Transportation, electricity generation, and manufacturing & industry are far greater producers of greenhouse gases. But they are huge systemic issues and you won't be able to get those sweet, sweet feelings of superiority you can get by trying to shame others for their diets. And you're just as bad as everyone else, because you're not giving up travel, convenient products from the global supply chain, or heating & AC in your house.

Should humans eat less beef? Yes. Is replacing it with just different McDonald's bullshit in any way sustainable or healthy? Not really.

No, I agree ...
I remember the big hoopla about The Impossible Burger being that it's almost as unhealthy as a regular burger ...
Hell, they found that half of them were made on the same grills as the actual beef burgers ... I'm sure that's defeating the issue ...

No matter what, you're going to have pinheaded fuckbags trying to shove their shit down your throat (food or otherwise), and trying
to project their ideals upon you ... It's why I pretty much just ignore the whole world ...

I'm old enough, smart enough, and give too few fucks to care what your (possibly) misinformed agenda is ...

That said, these types of one-sided fuck-sticks do arouse quite a bit of amusement out of me ...

BOOYA, MOTHERFUCKER!!!

Well it couldn't happen to a more deserving outlet, I agree with that.

But in reality I agree with both of you, the industry is unsustainable.

Though a rib eye or tri-tip is really good once in a while. Oh and ground beef to, love it. Rare all round!
Reality; A shared narrative we all agree to believe.

No, agreed ....
Medium-Rare for me though ..
