What I saw in the initial pics of this event was a serious lack of actual steel beams. It's like they basically relied on just concrete and rebar.

Eh, you can find shitty structural engineers everywhere and contractors who will cut every possible corner possible.

Plus this is Florida; that building should probably never have been built. Here in Baltimore they built a bunch of high rises along the harbor. They had a bitch of a time pouring concrete for the footings because of water infiltration. Then they had to figure out what to do about the underground parking flooding. High rises in Miami are and always have been psychotic.

They were warned YEARS AGO that those were not a good idea ... And double warned about sinkholes ...

Ok, NOW they are going to do a "30 day study" into the integrity of Cindy's anus apartments built around that area ...
