ROTLD3 had tits and all, but it was a pretty weak zombie movie.

I think the first zombie film I ever saw was Night of the Comet, also pretty weak, but WTF, I was like 11.

Dude, how can a zombie movie be weak at 11?

It's either scary as shit, or more likely, piss funny.

Re: The Living Dead Trilogy Reply #63 on: April 19, 2009, 07:25:29 AM
Yeah at that age every scary movie was scary and awe inspiring.

I saw Child's Play 2 & 3 on USA when I was 10 and that fucked my shit UP. Scared the bejesus out of me for so long.  Now I love those movie (well, not so much 3 as much as 1 and 2).

It's not a hardcore zombie movie, the zombies are technically zombies and it's not really gory or anything.

ok...

Should we compile a list of Zombie movies seen, with a rating, something simple like thumbs up or thumbs down.

Because one of the greatest zombie movies I ever saw was Guitar Wolf:Wild Zero. It aint scary, and I honestly have no idea what the plot was, but it was a (demented) showcase for the worlds greatest Jet Rock'N'Roll band, Guitar Wolf. Thumbs Up!

Night of the Comet:Thumbs Down
Dawn of the Dead (original): Thumbs Up
Night of the Living Dead: Thumbs Up
Land of the Dead: ?
Day of the Dead: ?
Diary of the Dead: ?

Return of the Living Dead: Thumbs Up
Shaun of the Dead: Thumbs Up
Braindead: Thumbs Up
Zombie Strippers: Thumbs Up
Dawn of the Dead(remake): Thumbs up
Dance of the Dead: Thumbs Up
Trailor Park of Terror: Thumbs Up
28 Days Later: ?
28 Weeks Later: ?

1.  I'm sure you did.
2.  WTF?  Watch the first one, it's the best.  I like all the Resident Evils but I'm biased because I'm madly in love with Milla Jovovich.

So you are married to Shaun of the Dead now?

i would fucking marry shaun of the dead if i could.

Ditto. And Hot Fuzz.

have you seen Run, Fatboy, Run? Also hilarious.

And How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. It just has Simon Pegg in it but it's funny as shit.

RFR was funny and kinda sweet, but only cuz they went out of their way to make Hank Azaria's character a shithead. For most of the movie he seemed sort of a little too perfect, but it still seemed out of character for him to turn into the giant asshole he ended up being. I would've liked it much better if they didn't throw that twist into it.
ever tried. ever failed. no matter. try again. fail again. fail better.

World War Z (2010) based on the book of the same name.  Can't wait.  The  book is fantastic if you haven't read it and like Zombie fiction.

My favorites:
28 Days Later (vastly better than 28 Weeks Later in my opinion).
Dawn of the Dead (Remake) -- fantastic all around, great ending.
Shaun of the Dead (best zomcom? lol)

I haven't seen many old flicks.

Pour the wine, hold the grind, quarter to nine, let's go.

Oh Christ... I see a really rubbish sitcom in the making... Everybody Loves Mosh.

It'd better have a zombie massacre in it.

Duh, I already mentioned that! Geez, pay attention.

The Zombie Survival Guide is one of my favorite books, honestly. As is the next one he wrote, World War Z. Which is being turned into a (hopefully) really awesome movie.

Anyway, I thought of another movie worth watching. Fido. If you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and check it out.

And let's not forget Re-Animator and Night of the Creeps. Night of the Creeps is probably one of my faves. I really should own it.

Flight of the Living Dead was awful. Not even funny-bad just really not good. Also, there is a movie called Shatter Dead which is... fucking crazy. The idea behind it is actually pretty interesting. It's about a world with zombies (obviously) but the zombies are pretty much just like normal people except they're dead...ish. They're trying to "make a living" in a world that discriminates against zombie folk. Some living people want to help them out, some want to ignore them and a lot just want them dead. Anyway, good idea for a movie, but it was written, acted, and directed poorly. Also, there is some serious Jersey bush in one scene where the heroine wants to have sex with her undead boyfriend but he can't get it up so she ties a gun around his waist and goes to town on it. There is actual visible penetration with a fucking handgun.

Insane.
