When one reaches the age of consent for sex in their state, thereby validating some sense of adulthood, why are then pictures of said person engaged in sexual acts considered illegal. There's the first one, where they won't prosecute high schoolers who want to bone each other.  In Maryland, there's some age differential requirement until you hit 18.

Then there's the be as freaky as you want to be age of consent.

I am not stating I am in favor of it, but I would like the State to be fair across the board with respect to age. In my state, you can consent to sex at 16, enlist in the Army at 17, vote, enter into contracts other than military, and purchase cigarettes at 18, but can't drink alcohol until 21. I'd rather find an acceptable age for all the above and get on with it all.
