Even if you're not a fan you can enjoy this! I can't believe how much I liked it!
It's campy, but not too campy and easy to follow (especially for the ladies who hate stories about space)
I think I'll see the next three that are scheduled to come out - provided they don't get "spiderman syndrome"

Re: Star Trek Reply #1 on: May 10, 2009, 10:06:10 AM
I'm in the middle of watching it right now.  It's sweet so far.

"Spiderman syndrome"?

And I look forward to seeing this. But not as much as Wolverine, which I should be going to see tonight.

If you care about the Wolverine story, the movie is only half good.
If you care about Hugh Jackman naked and kicking ass, the movie is ALL GOOD.
Like yours.  Only different.

I don't really care. I'm no die-hard fan, but I've really liked all the movies so far. I think they're cast pretty well.

In any case, I've already seen Wolverine. And it rocks:

Spider man syndrome: Starts out great, gets terrible by the last one ( dance scene in spiderman 3)

Re: Star Trek Reply #7 on: May 10, 2009, 04:04:36 PM
Yeah, Spiderman 3 was definitely the worst of the bunch, by far. But then Spidey 2 was by far the best.

isn't that Matrix syndrome?

We need some LOTR syndrome. 3 movies of pure awesomeness.

You mean three movies of pure "meh" and boredom?

isn't that Matrix syndrome?

Matrix syndrome is where the first movie is awesome and the next two should never have existed.

Star Wars syndrome is where the 4th, 5th and 6th movies are awesome and the 1st through 3rd should never have existed.

Alien syndrome: The first two were awesome, the third was a giant reeking pile of shit, and the fourth was just ok.

Highly enjoyed Star Trek. I'm no Trekkie geek but I do know enough to qualify for semi-geekdom and still found the movie to be good.
