It's an ok action flick.  Like all movies of this nature, the fewer questions you ask, the more you'll enjoy it.

That said...I do wish they had the John Conner character play less of a role.  The other character is far more compelling.  I read that Christian Bale wanted to be John and had them rework the script to place more emphasis on him.  Oh well.

Why the fuck didn't Eddie Furlong play John Connor??? Only makes sense.

Yeah, I'll be watching this having purposefully forgotten that I ever saw the third one.

I never saw the third one.  I've only ever seen the 2nd one.  Never saw the first one either.

I'm strangely interested in going to see this, but everyone I've talked to said it was really average and mediocre.

Should I go see it or no?  Is it worth $10?

I don't remember ANYTHING about the third one, if that tells you anything.

I would say that if you're going to watch it, pay the $10 (of find a second run theater that'll let you in for $5-$6).  I think that action movies don't always translate nearly as well to the small screen.

If you go in expecting to see terminators fighting and fancy special effects, you won't be disappointed.  If you expect the big ideas like transhumanism like McG thinks this movie addresses, or a strong plot, then you will be disappointed.  For me, it's much easier to suspend disbelief and focus on the former in the theater; if I watch at home, I'm always going to be obsessed with the shortcomings of the latter.

I've never seen the first one all the way through. I've seen all of it, just never all in one sitting, and not for years. I think I should try to fix that, cuz people tend to say it's even better than the 2nd one, which I love.

I went and saw it.  Pretty good.  What I expected.

I'm kind of upset that they ruined the surprise about the hybrid guy in the trailer.  I knew as soon as they introduced the character what the twist would be and they really weren't very subtle about it.  It was weird that he seemed to switch between a heavy-breathed guff and a high-pitched English accent through the film, I don't know what that was about.

There was also a ton of back story that was completely over my head but hey its all good, there was lots of metal mangling madness.

My cable company has something called Optimum rewards. If you have the triple play (cable phone internet, which i have), you get a card, and get rewards, free movie tuesdays at clearview cinemas, and discounts any other day. you also get 20 bills off your bill every month too! So, uhh-- it's hardly a waste of $ for me ;] muahahahaha

I just got back from seeing this, and it wasn't a disappointment but it also wasn't anything I'd see twice. Great CG and special effects, and I liked all the actors except the main dude in the sub, and Bale as Conner.

I noticed that too. They should have gone back and fixed it. It was strange.
