I have a piece of shit dvd player and dvds from Best Buy and they all work for me.

I have an HDTV tuner dongle for the lap top, I hardly ever turn on the big TV. That plus the streaming content on so many sites and the occasional torrent keeps my free time filled pretty much as desired. I can't imagine ever buying a fucking DVD.
