these are the 2 new movies i've seen most recently at the theater.

LOTL: lame, but laughable moments. not for the little ones, but nothing too racy. that guy whose name escapes me at the moment (from pineapple express and tropic thunder) was in it. he's pretty hilarious usually, only mildly amusing here. will farrell is also just moderately entertaining. i didn't fall asleep. overall, i did like it. one thumb up. wait for the dvd.

HANGOVER: saw this yesterday at matinee time (first matinee in years, and god there were so many old people there! kind of inappropriate for the grandmas out there). i was hungover, and got stoned before going in to ensure the laugh factor. the movie was pretty cheeseball, with corny shooting angles and pan-out shots. pretty stupid buddy flick with stereotypical characters, each a seeming caricature of himself. some pretty funny moments. one strong thumb up, if only for the laugh-out-loud moments that were probably due to the copious amount of weed i smoked beforehand. i did not fall asleep. go see if you're bored and stoned. don't expect much.

Ha, I just watched Land Of The Lost last night? And I started to watch Hangover but the site was too slow. Strange you started a thread on the very two movies I was interested in watching last night.

I'm watching Panic In The Year Zero at the moment.

I don't get what they were trying to accomplish with Land of the Lost. Why have all the bad language in it that gave it the PG-13 rating? I mean, who was their target audience? The movie kinda sucked and like you said neither Ferrel nor Danny McBride (that guy who's in like EVERYTHING) were all that funny. It's not like adults are going to tell their friends to go see this shitty movie, and teenagers will think it's just as shitty. My two kids (11 and 5) thought it was great, but if I had known how much bad language would be in it I wouldn't have taken them to see it.

They fucked themselves on this one. If they'd cleaned up the language and simply released it as a PG kid's movie they'd probably clean up on the DVD sales. Not gonna happen now unless you want your kids running around saying "bitch", "ass", "shit" and "fuck you chaka".
Go to these sites, and don't forget to tell your friends!

LOTL looks so retarded I have very little intention of ever seeing it. Never having seen (or even heard of, till the ads for this movie) the original show may have contributed to my lack of interest.

The Hangover looks great, but there's no way I'm gonna go see it in the cinema. It doesn't rank nearly high enough in my "unavoidable cinema trips" rankings. I hate going to the cinema. Hate not having the ability to pause. Hate not being able to smoke. Hate not being able to get more beer after a certain point. Etc. I'll only go to the cinema for movies that seem like "must-see" bigscreen movies. The last three movies I saw at the cinema were 300, Iron Man, and Wolverine.
ever tried. ever failed. no matter. try again. fail again. fail better.

The smart dino was a nice touch, along with the giant walnut.
