I think it's bullshit.  When I was laid off and applied for jobs that I, a year ago, would never have applied for, I was told I was either too old for the job or didn't have the right experience.  I bet the people who hire people to clean up vomit look for an immigrant person to do them.  It's like reverse werewolf vampire zombie discrimination.

And THAT, in a nutshell, is the problem with unethical capitalism ~

it's in their best interests to find cheap labor,

who come to work, do the job, and don't call in sick, nor really expect much other than an honest days pay for an honest days labor.

i don't give a rat's banana WHO you are, you DO NOT "deserve" to make MILLIONS OF DOLLARS a year.

But, imho, when we chose to turn our backs, as a society, on God and Godly principles, we opened the door to the horrors of absolute selfishness.

The idea that unregulated capitalism would produce the optimum result for all of the participants is magical thinking.  The sum of individual greed = collective prosperity?  In other news, I have a new formula that shows if I am granted 30 sex slaves, climate change will stop and no one will ever get cancer again.

Couple that with most major governments being oligarchies/plutocracies, the currencies we use being wholly divorced from actual productive work, official and religious policy that encourages continued rabbit-like breeding in spite of the world being overpopulated, etc. and you end up with a system that's so fucked up that most people will never get a fair shot at "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness," even in the wealthiest countries in the world.

It's a lot easier to point a finger at the "other," though, instead of attacking substantive issues.  I feel kind of bad for people that buy into something like the BNP (in between laughing at them).  The leaders, on the other hand, know exactly what buttons they're pushing in an attempt to gain power and really deserve our collective hatred.

But, imho, when we chose to turn our backs, as a society, on God and Godly principles, we opened the door to the horrors of absolute selfishness.

Which part?  The "Godly principles" thing?  Read that:  Actual Ethical Standards.

The cheap labor expecting an honest days wage for an honest days work?  Honestly, i think we ALL do that.

But we've gotten caught up in a "THAT-Dude/tte-Makes-HOW-MUCH???" and thinking that we are worth equal to, or more, than they are, when the truth is, it's the folks actually doing the do, putting together the whatever's, the Grunt Work, that are the valuable ones, the actual producers.
