Awww!  Come sit by me, Moth ~ i'm not afraid of spiders, snakes nor scorpions.  They don't seem to like me, much, and i usually only get to see their retreating backsides.  Believing that they don't exist in my reality sort of causes 'em to not exist around me.  Either that, or i just don't notice 'em!   (<~ Like that?  Is THAT a "tangent?"   )

Detroit was bit by a spider two years ago and nearly lost his leg. He's got this huge chunk missing from his thigh.
Needless to say when there's a spider in the house, Mama Geek kills it.

i thought Tarantula ~ that large and hairy.

We used to keep a couple of 'em.  They really aren't that dangerous ~ their bites supposedly no worse than bee stings.  They never bit us, just did their Spidey thang, and our "guard-dogs-that-don't-need-to-be-walked" thang, 'cuz of COURSE, we had pix and "put the word out" about 'em being loose in the apartment.

And i've stumbled upon a nest of black widows, in the wellhouse.  They're SO black and shiny, that their markings GLARE out at you.  i got stung by a scorpion that was on the inside of the door, and didn't even realize it, i was so focused on the nest.  Freaked me out, i can tell you!
