Re: Swine Flu Reply #60 on: September 21, 2009, 01:45:40 AM
I found out years ago that the reason I am sick for only a day or 3 at a time, if I get sick, since it's a rarity, is that, with Type "O+" blood, and my specific genetics, or my mass exposure to illness as a medic, I have an enzyme in my blood that makes it too acidic for most bacteria and virii to cultivate ....

They caught this when I was tested many times when I didn't get Strep Throat and everyone around me did ...

They caught it again, in adult life, when I was exposed to TB and I had NO symptomsl EVER ....
BOOYA, MOTHERFUCKER!!!

Let's copulate. With your super human health, and my shitty health, the offspring would have at least normal health. But I don't think one can get pregnant from buttsecks.

One of my coworkers just called in saying that her son, 15 years old, was just verified as having the H1N1 virus.  He would be in the children's hospital here but there are no beds available.

Yeah suck it up. Its the flu. (yes a hell of a flu), but ALL flus are gawdaweful after all, but its still the flu. More contagious maybe. but shit... the world has endured H1N1, what, three times in recorded history? Once in the early 1900's, it killed like a bazillion people. The Cold killed fuckers back then. Then the70's, we THOUGHT it killed folks, but people were offing from AID's, we just didnt know what it was then (thanks hippies). Now? Christ, a man on the moon (allegedly), USSR's gone, Cuba has cell phones, aMERICA has a negro president that no imbred white trash has shot yet, I think we can handle the flu... Again, suck it up. I find out ONE of you cunts gets that damn vaccine (except ferynza, or however you spell that shit, Im drunk) Im over and out... again.

my boyfriend's nephew had the swine flu. at 10 years old he weighs in at around 95 pounds soaking wet. he was out of school for nearly two weeks, but now he's healthy as ever again. in your face, swine flu!

Re: Swine Flu Reply #78 on: September 30, 2009, 11:10:15 AM
Apparently theyre vaccinating the old people, young 'uns and pregnant women here. Doesnt seem right to me but.. that's what i was told.

I wouldnt get the vaccine anyway.
I'm not even getting the HPV one.

Re: Swine Flu Reply #79 on: October 01, 2009, 01:04:17 AM
Yea, don't get the HPV vaccine.  If aren't fucking like a crazed rabbit like myself then it is pointless for you.  I bet you would get it, then it would wear off after five years, and then you would be sexually active.

Re: Swine Flu Reply #80 on: October 01, 2009, 02:24:32 AM

Re: Swine Flu Reply #81 on: October 20, 2009, 06:44:23 PM
I have a cough today, which I picked up yesterday.  No fever, just chest phlegm.

The phlegm has started to darken this afternoon, going from clear/white to clear/clumpy-yellow.  This is not a great sign.

Sasha told me to go to the doctor today, but I'm going to give whatever this is another 24 hours to get its shit packed and move out.

I thought it would be funny to come here and ask Danzig what kind of cough syrup he recommends for me, given these symptoms.  :)

Avoid guaifenesin-containing cough syrups.
Oh wait,... unless you just want to get better...

Re: Swine Flu Reply #83 on: October 20, 2009, 06:50:24 PM
Luke, I know you, you've already read up on this. It's devastating to some peoples' respiratory.

So... Leave me one of your comps so I don't have to drop $400 on a Lenovo all in one?

1)  I don't think it's swine flu, this just happened to be the best thread to mention it.
2)  what kind of hardware do you need?  i reorganized recently and came up with a lot of spare equipment.
3) don't buy lenovo.
     a)  they're chinese.
     b)  no matter what IBM computers might have been back in the day, lenovo has tossed that quality out the window.

Well since my Vaio is on it's last legs and my Samsung Synchmaster 150MP is getting moved to a wall mount as a TV, I'm pretty much starting from scratch.

I was looking at the Lenovos in a store the other day and they're attractive and they seem to perform well. And they cost less than a laptop.

Do you need a laptop, or would a desktop system do?  I can just ship you all of the parts for a desktop system, if you want to do that.

I have a lot of spare shit, right now, that's no more than a year or two old.

Sasha told me to go to the doctor today, but I'm going to give whatever this is another 24 hours to get its shit packed and move out.

I should have listened to her yesterday and just gone to the doc.  I *did* go today, and...

I have a cough today, which I picked up yesterday.  No fever, just chest phlegm.

The stuff got more yellowy, but still very liquidy.

The doc said that I have what's called "Walking Pneumonia", or Community-Acquired Pneumonia, which is probably just a bacterial infection causing some liquid to build up in my lungs.  So, I'm on antibiotics until Friday and, if symptoms don't change, the doc said he'll want to do a chest x-ray and, depending on that, maybe hospitalize me.

I've learned my lesson, God.  No more old jokes about Zoomie (even though, by all accounts, HE should have gotten pneumonia before ME!).

I thought it would be funny to come here and ask Danzig what kind of cough syrup he recommends for me, given these symptoms.  :)

My doctor decided cheratussin was the right way to go!
