They wouldn't take plasma from me because of the damage to my veins from injecting unmentionables into myself.  Daddy-  Your mother had the same condition you have?

Yes, ma'am. Alport Syndrome. Genetic mutation. The consensus is that it is on the X chromosome and not autosomal.  We won't know that unless my son develops symptoms later in life or we have him typed.

My mother has it and my grandmother lost one kidney to it. An aunt of mine died from complications with it when she was 19.

My mother went into renal failure when she was 40. She got her cadaver transplant at 44 and the organ is now showing signs of failing her 20 years later. That is incredible for an unrelated cadaver organ. She is actually on the Transplant list for her second.

A friend of mine joked that God knew I was a bad seed and was trying to get rid of me before I would do any damage.... His statement, " I bet God is cursing the guy who dreamed of transplanting organs to be stuck with your soul."
Jesus, you're fucked dude. My dad was diabetic, but only because he was cooked by 50,000V while building the PG&E infrastructure.

Interestingly enough we lived in poverty for the next 30 years while PG&E prospered.

Strange coincidence that this thread was brought back "to life." This Friday morning I have another appointment with the dick doctor at 8:30 in the morning. I think we have yeast infections... both her and I. My penis is not pretty, and dry/itchy. No discharge, but she has a discharge.

Sigh. So many health problems over the past year.

Loaded-Gun.com - I don't know what the hell they are talking about or why they are even there. They don't make serious points and they don't joke, but they still manage to make a lot of posts somehow.

I'm going to the doctor for a UTI tomorrow morning.  Give me a high five when you see me at the std clinic?

How do you know they are clean?

Dave:  "Do you have herpes?"
Chick: "no"

three weeks later

Dave: "What are all these little sores?"

Re: More medical issues. Reply #128 on: June 04, 2010, 04:56:38 AM
It's true. While someone who clearly doesn't take much care of their personal hygiene is probably a slightly riskier lay, you can catch anything from anyone, regardless of how 'clean' they seem.

Speaking of little sores, I went to the std clinic today because I have been bleeding for a while now and especially after sex... also it burns when I pee.  They give me all the tests, nothing, not even HIV.  I feel lucky but I asked them what to do about the burning sensation.  The nurse told me to go see a gyno.  I said that I had a MAPS card but I couldn't be seen because they aren't taking new patients.  Oh well.  Tis life!  I am just going to drink only water in the mean time to try and see if that helps.

Kyle could find out what a penis should look like if he checked out yours.

Also, I kind of miss Kyle.  He's nice and funny and always laughs at all of my jokes.  I invite him out but his gf is 20.  I am going to have to get her a fake ID I think so they can stop going to raves and doing X like huge dorks.

Re: More medical issues. Reply #134 on: June 05, 2010, 09:26:55 AM
No sugar cranberry juice. You'll pee like mad for days - but it will help with the UTI.

Doing E? Is he still wearing UFOs and listening to Happy Hardcore too?

Re: More medical issues. Reply #135 on: June 05, 2010, 05:31:39 PM
The first thing the doctor said when he came in and saw me, was "You're always coming in here worried about your genitals!" Haha. I was hoping he wouldn't say anything.

It turns out it's not an STD and not a yeast infection. It's eczema, and I have been itching and scratching the scalyness so much it's turned into a secondary issue: folliculitis. One week of antibiotics, and a couple weeks of strong steroid cream should do it.

Sasha, do you go to Austin Regional Clinic? We may have just missed each other hah.

I hadn't gone to a rave in literally a decade until New Year's, and hadn't done ecstasy in that same amount of time but since then I've done it twice. Raves aren't really my thing now, but I'm taking the girl so she can experience a few.

Bagman-  I went to the RBJ health clinic where they only deal with STD's.  I also have excema down on my clitoral hood from time to time, but I have it all the time on my right elbow.  I have used all the prescribed creams and pills and it has never gone away completely.  I finally just gave up and let it be there all the time.  Just make a point to never scratch it, no matter what!

Re: More medical issues. Reply #139 on: June 07, 2010, 01:35:55 AM
I have that too, mostly on my left knee right now but in my scalp a little, it's really cleared up there and a spot on my left thumb that's barely noticeable now. I have medication as well and you're right, it doesn't work very well.

It would suck if Kyle had scabs on his penis permanently because he just took it out of the box.

Well, I had a meeting with a nutritionist today and there was an interesting development. We were going over the usual renal diet and there was a section on alcohol. I would have skipped it but the nutritionist asked if I drink. I said not since I was diagnosed. She said, "Well, if you feel the need for a social drink or two, vodka has no sodium, potassium, or phosphorus." My ears perked up. I haven't liquor in ages. I never was a fan of it. But I am willing to try.

UPDATE! I will have my fistula surgery on July 12th... Reality is settling in for a spell.

Re: More medical issues. Reply #145 on: June 19, 2010, 03:07:17 AM
Cool that you now have the option of a drink now and then, even if you choose not to anyway. Options are always a good thing to have, and vodka's a pretty versatile liquor.

And surgery itself ain't cool, but moving towards fixing problems is! Congrats on both counts!

Next Monday at 11am, I won't have full functional use of my right arm until six to eight weeks later... Even though I'm a lefty, I jerk off with my right usually.
