Eitje fan club... woooo :P

Well when I was talking to Thrash online one night my computer was like literally on the verge of dying... I could tell and I freaked out and he said quick download this and gave me a link so I did. Then he did netmeeting and did some other stuff. The difference is when you told me to download all that stuff my computer wasn't literally about to implode, when I was talking to him it was. See, it's all about timing!

But that's okay.  I'm only a little insulted.

so, my AVG/spybot advice got me nowhere, huh?

lame.

AVG and Spybot have been useless to me for the last few years. All the malware/vruses made today know about them and how to suppress/hide from them, so they amount to pissing in the wind.  AVG didn't even work right in safe mode last time I tried to use it, when I had that fucking google redirect pain-in-the-ass malware that I couldn't track down.  I finally got rid of it using a DOS anti-malware program I found on a tech support forum that turned out to be the Mike Tyson of antivirals.

Haha, way I understand it, a LOT of people couldn't get Vista to work.

And they're all going to hop on Windows 7 and think it's brand new, when it's really just Vist SP3.

And, SURPRISE, they'll feel so much more productive!

Re: Thrash fan club Reply #52 on: March 31, 2009, 08:45:39 PM
I haven't really tried either one yet.  I heard way too much bad shit about Vista from people, and didn't really need to upgrade anyway.  And I'm not about to install a half-finished OS on my home PC just to test it.  I'll wait until Windows 7 comes out to market and if people say it's fixed from the bloated, buggy piece of junk that they say Vista is, then I'll try it.

I'm sure people who know computers can set up and run Vista fine, but most of the market doesn't have those skills, and that's probably where the problems are coming from.

Well, that's the way it goes.  If it's superfluous, and reported to be buggy on top of that, then why even bother with it?  Is Vista the holy grail of computing or something, and I'm missing out?

Nah.  It's just a reasonable upgrade over XP.
But people that went to XP, got there from 98, and they expect a similar paradigm shift when they leave XP.

Yeah and the fact is that there really isn't that much to upgrade anymore, in my opinion.

Vista needs more resources so you need a little more horsepower, ram ect.
But my kid is using Vista Black edition and he really likes it.
